Thinking about lowering car????

I've been considering lowering the car but concerned with a lowered car in washington weather(swift springs). I moved up from california about 1.5 yrs ago and want to see from those who have been here longer what they think? Also, should I go with one of those 3m clear bras due to the amount of gravel constantly on the road?

we are trying to get robi to come up for another suspension install/tune up, you should definitely look into it if you plan on doing some suspension work, or just lowering springs.

roads here in wa is not that bad, at least not here in bellevue. my evo is about an inch off the ground and im liking it, its a bit low for daily driving but i like it. check out robispec.com, you wont be dissapointed. if we get enough, you wont have to drive up here, maybe robi can meet you down there while he drives up

i think hes a great guy, he knows what hes doing. sure his setup is aggressive, if you aint hardcore on the track then dont ask him to set it that way. though i can tell you, one trip to the track with his tune will change your mind

if you have a clear bra for a long period of time the rest of your car that isnt clear bra'd will probably fade.

i have a clear bra, and the only chips i have are rocks big enough to make it thru the clear bra. i go to the mnt every week end though, for me its worth it.

swift springs would be a good choice. i ran them for a year or so until i went with KW's.

when you lower your car you can have johnbradley align it for you hes near your neck of the woods.

I never questioned this, in fact I said I am sure they handle great. Reading comprehension.

I have raced since I was 5 and helped my dad with setup even back then. Today, I use a 35K alignment rack everyday at work. I know one or two things about setting up suspension. I have my car aligned aggressively without as much wear as I hear his setups generate.

This could be very true, but I am DIYer in every sense of the word. I tune my car, I work on my car, I setup my suspension. If you dont want an aggressive alignment it seems silly to have Robi give you a non aggressive alignment. Perhaps we can agree to disagree.

I just had Road//Race Engineering put some Swift Springs and a set of Trail Arm Bushings, over the holidays. Made for a very nice ride and the stance is what I was after, didn't want it slammed. I didn't want an aggressive alignment, -1.2 Camber with a little toe up front and -1 with zero toe in the back. Handles nice on the street, with out eatting up my tires.

John, your post count is at 666....Keep a low profile today.lol

Spinedoc, My Dad lives in Shelton and our family name is Shelton, he's about half a mile from that little grocery store with a post office next door. That's a nice community.

thanks for the replies. I think I will go with the swifts, probably this summer. Where is john bradley located to do this alignment. In Cal. we had those hunter aligning machines everywhere but here in shelton I don't know of one, not even les schwab
