February Drive - Rain Forest Frolic
We're keeping the date flexible on this one so we can try to out smart the weather. If the weather cooperates we'll run on Sunday, 18 February. If, by the 11th it looks like the weather wont cooperate, we'll push the drive back to the 25th. Whichever day we go, we'll be running Hwy 101 from Hoodsport to Quilcene. In and of itself this is a really short run, so I plan on tossing a run into the forest in the mix.
The Particulars
This is a run we tried in November, but we struggled with an absolute down-pour, making the drive a little more stressful and less fun than usual, and limiting the turn out.
The Meeting
Final RV point of Potlach State Park (yes I'm fond of meeting at Parks, they attract less attention).

Meet time will be around 10:00 with a departure around 11:00 as usual. Located 12 miles north of Shelton, Wash., on the state's western side. From Shelton: Drive twelve miles north on U.S. Hwy. 101 to park entrance. From Hoodsport: Drive three miles south on U.S. Hwy. 101 to park entrance.

The Food
Last time we tried this, we visited the A&W in Poulsbo. Unfortunately, they just serve Gas Station hamburgers and pour the Root Beer into paper cups. Please, if you someplace in Poulsbo, Kingston, or on Bain Bridge Island please let me know.

Well Gelion I went on kris's last cruise the snowflake special and I know that he drives an RX-8 and the majority of the people that showed were RX-8's besides myself and another evo, and a handful of others so it'll mainly be RX-8's unless we can get a good turnout of EVO's this time. Look forward to seeing you all there
Well I get back from japan on the 17th, so I'll have to do alot of feet rubbin to get my wife to let me go without a fuss. I got my new 272/272 cam shafts and gears delivered to my house today, I'll prolly have to wait till I get back to have em installed. Then put in the pump, scale the injectors, go get an oregon flash and chill till I get my GT35R ;D
She has to watch/feed our newborn and she doesn't like riding in my car most of the time so she most definately won't want to come...
I am going up to Canada later with her this year for our post honeymoon, takin the evo and meeting some cats up there. Kids will stay at grandmas fortunately.

Hey I am in Poulsbo (well 3 miles away), maybe I can attend but I dont have my Evo yet
, stuck with the Probe GT for about another month or two. Central market might be a decent place to stop, big parking lot and awesome variety of food. PM if you want some details, I know the area pretty well. Derek

As long as you enjoy driving, the car doesn't much matter, so come on out. Central Market is a good idea. Though, I was thinking something more along the lines of a drive in or sit-down style place.
Haha have myself a little baby GT. Sure I'll come on out since its going to be fairly close to me. Get a chance to test out my new camera if it gets here in time. Central market does have a small place to sitdown, probably about 6-8 tables, enough seating for maybe 20 or so, I dont know if that would be enough if there were other people there though. Drive through there are all the normal fast food joints. I can think of some other places too if you have something else in mind. Derek
