Talking Looking for work!

I was just curious if anyone in these forums worked for any of the phone companies around here. The portland-metro area that is. I just got out of the army as a Network Switching Systems Operator and Maintainer and have been looking for work at a phone company. I have been applying everywhere and sending resumes left and right, but I'm not having much luck. If anyone knows of any open positions, or can provide a reference that would be great!

By the way, I'm looking for something in the Customer Area Technician/Line Installations area. I could also work for a cable company installing cable and network lines. Pretty much anything in telecommunications. If anyone has any leads let me know.

Thanks guys!

Could always work for DirecTV. They installed phone lines, RG6, satellites, etc. Its pretty easy and they pay pretty well. They are in need of people real bad, I walked into the Tumwater office and I was hired that day. You make upwards of $2000 a week if you want. The only downside you work alot of 6 day weeks and alot of hours (50-70hr weeks). Derek

Thanks man! I hadn't even thought of DirecTV. I'm definitely going to apply there right away. I just got an email from T-Mobile saying they were interested in other prospects than myself. Kind of dissapointing since the position I was applying for was only a Tech 1 position. Plus I haven't heard back from any of the other places.

Anyhoo, if anyone else has any suggestions feel free to let me know.

Thanks again!
