I'm going with some GSC S1 cams and a custom tune in April and my car should be running low 12s or even better, high 11s when everything is said and done. I'm contemplating the FP Evogreen turbo but that depends on what I run with the cams and 2nd custom tune. I don't want to break the 11.5 barrier since I don't want a roll bar in my car.
So the funny thing is that by keeping the stock cat back on the car you aren't making the maximum use of the upgraded DP and TP. Because while the gases may now move more freely through the upgraded DP and the TP they still end up moving at the stock pace through the stock cat back.

This is why you really should upgrade the exhaust from the back (cat back) towards the front (downpipe).

I ran stock catback w/ a dp and tp for a few months this winter, the power difference wasn't bad at all. The stock catback is 2.5" and there is a flapper in the muffler to make it straight through at WOT.

Yeah thats why i said you won't make the maximum use of it. Upgrading them still gets rid the part of the stock restrictors (stock downpipe and cat...icky looking pieces).

Yea I know I'm not making maximum use of the dp and tp but it's worth saving the headache of being hassled by the police and those little kids that try to hit you up for a race. It seems they don't start as much crap with stock looking Evos than modified ones.

It's just like getting a flash instead of a custom tune, I'm not getting the maximum benefits but it's better than stock.

True but you could just get a quiet stock looking exhaust. You'll get a little bit more out of the car and still not attract attention...you've heard my car right? Its relatively quiet with a full TBE because the Greddy Evo 2 is on there. Also cause of the offset can (hides most of the can behind the bumper) it looks pretty stock from the back unless you look close. You also could go and get the Fujitsubo which I've heard is even quieter and looks relatively stock

I'll be buying the Tanabe Touring Medallion pretty soon but I'm also curious as to what the limitations of the stock cat back is. Let's just say I'm holding off on the exhaust for curiosity sake.

Good choice. When you get it i'd be interested to see how loud it is.
