So, question: What kind of longevity to you expect out of your motor before needing a rebuild at that kind of power level? I know it's the part that nobody likes to talk about. That's about 356hp per liter which is definitely up there. The engine on my shifter kart makes roughly the same power per liter and needs to be rebuilt typically after every race weekend. At what point does the evo motor get "tired" and prone to failure?

The million doller question. If you keep the tune safe and knock low the bearings will hold up for many seasons. If you really lean on the motor it will beat the rod bearings.

Most of the time cars like this are allways a mod in progress so the amount of miles put on the cars are low. I feel if you dally drove the car raced it a few times a month are riped on it a few times a day 50k would be tops before you would have to rehone and ring the motor.

I would be willing to bet 90% of cars with this kida build will never ware the motor out thay will break it trying to squeez every last bit of hp or redoing the setup for more power.

I am guessing that the goal for the car is high numbers and the lowest possible drag times, correct?

Bravo on the build and power!

It is clear that each of us has our own goals with our cars. I am eager to see what John can do with my car strapped to the rollers.

Name is Jon, I own NWRacingScene.com. If you ask John Reed he will tell you my entire list of mods for my Supra. It's stock head, stock motor, stock displacement and not even a 6 speed. I was just figuring if you want to beat up on a black Supra I will take Mark's place.

That kicks *** about the drag radials man.

Where'd you find this dinosaur? It's interesting to see where things were then, and where they are now.

I was looking for some BC dynographs and found this as part of the search. I had been told that the car made the 712 on racegas and meth but it looks like my memory was correct after all. This was when it had a PT67, magnus street manifold, 2.0L, steel rods, ER meth kit, BC280s, and was only running high 9s at 140-142. I remember trying to get next to it at a tea party and got left like I wasnt invited. I had a Green and S1s at the time and I thought my car was king ding a ling. Luke was making 430 on the stock bottom end back then (maybe his first built motor, but E85 anyway). I am trying to think what other fast card players were there that time. This spooled WAY LATE (like 6k+) and was being spun to nearly 10k as I recall.
