belive it or not I had a PM on another post who stated, that "if this only costs 15 bucks it must not be worth much", needles to say I was a little peved at that so I penned this response and am posting it up on alll the forums to which I subscribe.

Drivers school IS just 15 bucks, we want as many young drivers as we can get to experience this, unfortunatly we only have 30 spots, so apply today via the link above, or call the number on the web page. We are able to do this for so little because the money generated by sundays autocross, and generous contributions from sponsers pay the bills.

We want this class to be attainable for ANY young person who wants to come. The only reason we charge anything is the first year we did it free, and we had too many no shows, people think they are getting what they pay for , this is not the case. Gary Bockman for instance is a professional driving instructor, and has taught NASCAR Nextel Cup drivers how to road race. He normally charges 150 bucks plus an hour. Paul Eklund runs a Pro Rally school, his schools are, I believe over 200 dollars, not cheep. This is a once a year once in a lifetime chance to learn, hang out, talk racing, and in some cases race with, some of the best drivers in the country.

There is plenty of room as of today in the Sunday event. The 60 car limit is a restriction placed on us by the city, because it is a first time event for downtown. the reason we recomend Pre-registration is so you dont drive 6-8 hours one way, then dont get a chance to race. Instructors who wish to stay for Sunday get first dibs on available spots, followed by NWAA club members, as this is a championship points event. Based on past years this should leave about 20 spots open for the sunday event maybe 25, so send us email, we will put you on the list, and we will let you know for sure, the week before the event.

Sundays Autocross is in the heart of downtown Seaside, one of Oregons busiest coastal tourist towns 2 blocks from the beach and 1 block from Broadway in the citys convention center parking lot, for you hard core cone chasers, this will be a unique chance to run in front of potentially large crowds of non car nuts, absolutely the best chance you will ever get short of maybe the nationals in Topeka, to expose your current or potential sponsors to a large crowd.

Saturday the Lower Columbia Classics Car club holds its annual Spring cruise in at the Camp Rilea National Guard base. These people are not car snobs, and love to have the import/sport compact crowd come out, so even if your too old for the school, and dont want to race there is still something worth while to do here the weekend of April 27th-29th
