The level of grammar that a deaf person has really just depends on a lot of different things. For example, there are two main forms of sign language, ASL, how chris signs and SEE. SEE is signed exact english, so everything is signed exactly the way you and I would talk, they include all past and present tenses and used the word and or it. However, ASL grammer is completely different. It is a little hard to explain, but I will try.
SEE ex: I own an Evo.
ASL ex: Evo I have.
If someone has grown up signing more prodomenently SEE, there grammar will almost definately be very good. Someone who signs with ASL grammar all the time will probably have a little difficulty writing in perfect grammar.
Also, the level of grammar depends on what kind of schooling a deaf person gets. If they went to a deaf school or a deaf program where ASL grammar was used, their grammar will probably be worse than someone who whent to a hearing school and used an interpreter who signed SEE.
Another thing that may affect the grammar is if a deaf person was ever hearing, because they have heard proper english before they became deaf. In chris's case, he was pretty much born deaf.
I hope that answered your question. If not I can try again. Lol

1) you're right, he never asked anyone to come to his rescue, but some of us have some class and some compassion and know that chris is a great guy dispite the fact that his writing may not be perfect.
2) i beleive that there are laws out there protecting certain handicapped people when they go out and commit a crime. a jury or judge can rule that someone was not sane at the time of a crime or etc. just thought i would bring that to your attention, since you seem to be so detail orriented.
3) i want to apologize to you that this post was not completely correct english, as i did not use any capitols, if you are going to be fair, you should probably rag on me for that as well

(2) Crimes that are committed by MENTALLY ill people are in fact treated differently with regards to the person involved. Usually there are numerous tests performed by doctors and therapists to ascertain the mental capacity of the accused. PHYSICALLY handicapped people are usually not treated with the same regards as that afforded to mentally ill perpetrators. Being physically handicapped does not warrant preferential treatment. Indeed, physically handicapped inmates go through a more intensive barrage of intake and escorting procedures than normal inmates.
(3) Methinks you did this intentionally.
I look forward to meeting you in person. Are you going to Krispy Kreme on Friday? Ill talk to you and Chris then.
I was going to say "Thank you for explaining the nuances that Chris has to deal with." Then I got to the next page:
(1) I have class. I have compassion. I have empathy. I am also firm, fair and consistant. Sure people make mistakes. I know that most people on this board dont care to take the time out to ensure that someone else wont read their post and think something other than what they intend. I dont point out obvious errors in others posts when they are few, and the point is easily defined. However, with rare exception, the posts made by your boyfriend lean HEAVILY toward the ASL syntax style. This was evidenced by your first post. As I stated above, your initial explaination was clear and concise. That was all that was needed to remedy my ignorance as to his situation. This was never pointed out prior to your post. Had he but given an explaination as to WHY his posts were the way they were, this thread (or others) would not have gone the route they did. He just said that it was because he was deaf. Others that have replied to this post with friends that were deaf and could write without error, made it seem like he was lazy and was relying on his disability as a means of an excuse for his poor grammar, spelling, punctuation and syntax. As such, I now KNOW why he types the way he does, and will try to refrain from pointing out that he does not have the same capabilities that others have in regards to typing. If you havent noticed, I never use apostrophes.

On another note, I rag on just about everyone I meet. Everyone just jumped on this because Chris happens to be deaf. This wouldnt have happened if the OP was a 17 year old kid in High School. Everyone would have joined in on the fracas.

This post from you makes me feel horrible about how I talked to you and I really want to make sure you know how sorry I am for saying some of the things I did. I will definately be at Krispy Kreme this Friday and I am looking forward to meeting you.
I apologize again
