Just like Haze said, separate BS from your friends
I am the same too. You can't get everybody to understand your point of view.
Even sometime, they can't even give you the minimum respect as who you are just because you have certain disabilities. This thread shows just that.
I know you want the respect, and not a cry for sympathy like someone suggested
Keep on rocking Chris, you have my utmost respect

I have nothing against haze, or evogelion. I think their mods are stupid so I make fun of them for it, and I'm used to being made fun of back. As testosterone filled car guys it would be boring for us to hold hands and love each other constantly, we like to have a good time. Spend 5 minutes with our crew and you will be laughing your *** off.
I have nothing against you either Towelie. As far as my mods go: Exhaust, Intake, fuel rail, and Ings Front bumper (which I got because my stock got F'ed up). Rest of the kit is on the way to finish it off. Needed something quick. Eh, whatever. I am leaving in 36 hours. Dont have time for all the BS. Maybe one day I will meet you.

It's not that grammar or spelling is just a little bit off, I litterally have absolutely no idea what Chris is trying to say until I have read the post a few times, and even then I don't usually get all of it.
Everyone will have different opinions on this, but personally if you are trying to communicate with others I think you should make an effort to make your point so that others can easily understand it. When that effort isn't apparently made I find it insulting, because I personally put effort into all of my posts to try and make sure that my point is clearly made.
I understand that it is harder when english is your second language, but I don't see reading over your post before making it, or running important posts through a spelling/grammar checker, as being to much to ask. You could try writing it in word, then copy/pasting it into the forum possibly.
It's just the internet, nobody is asking for perfection, but being able to easily read a post on the first time would be nice

WHY? if u cant understand a post, just ask to clarify it...theres a less insulting way of doing that then saying: "dude, are u retarded? cant u spell? cant u read?"
i mean, seriously like i said b4, its just a forum, this is where most ppl go to just relax not get graded on their language usage
i mean, if the forums were made for perfection writing, im pretty sure they wouldve installed a spell check and theraus along with all the smiley faces on the side when u post
ever thought about that???
So I guess all those millions of people that know multiple languages can't spell or do anything about it? Give me a break, all this thread is a cry for support and bad mouthing DSM owners for stupid reasons. OMG all of these people are nice to me except for DSM people, but yet I'm going to talk **** and all of my e-thug friends are going to back me up too.
I used to work for a translation/interpretation company and there is an unbelievable amount of people that speak/write mulitiple languages without any problems, asl included. Our whole target market was ESL/ELL/SE schools and hospitals with native speakers.

Of course he can always do something about his grammar. The fact is that those things take time. English isn't my first language either, but since I grew up with English, I am probably a better writer than most of us cares.
But the fact is, if you think deeply, language is half written half spoken. Take one of those away and you have something completely different. Just be more understanding guys, it's not so hard.
The guy is just asking for a break. If you don't understand something he said, just say so. Ask him politely. Is everyone so offended by bad grammar?
J/K, but I agree that obviously grammar here on Evom is not something that is meant to be a huge issue. Like you said if it's that big of a deal to some people, ask the Mods to install a spell check if it's that important. Otherwise just take er easy.
I'm sorry but this board has some of the most ignorant people I have yet to run across. It's people like you that say **** like "This is America, learn to speak English you retard!" I'm also an immigrant and fortunately for me, I came when I was so young English always has been and will be my 1st language. Unfortunately my parents aren't in the same situation and they directly translate words from Korean to English but the grammar at times stay in Korean. Because of this their English or "Engrish" as people like to say doesn't flow as well.
I challenge you guys that say proper grammar isn't hard to learn a different language WITHOUT hearing a single word of it spoken. Go learn some hidden away Chinese dialect and never hear a single word of it. You think deaf children born in the US go to public schools and sit in the standard classes? Think again. They're busy learning the language they'll need to communicate in this world so they first learn ASL and take English later on in their schooling; just like we took a 2nd language during high school. How many of you guys can spell every word correctly in the language you learned in high school and have everything grammatically correct? I'm sure a few could and the same way, there are deaf folks that can write impeccably in English. That does not make it the standard and give people the right to call them a retard or say **** like "Man why is it so hard to write in English so we can understand?"
I see spelling and grammatical mistakes all over this board so go play grammar police somewhere else and stop ripping on the guy who's 2nd language is English and hasn't heard a word of it spoken in his lifetime.

SEE ex: I own an Evo.
ASL ex: Evo I have.
If someone has grown up signing more prodomenently SEE, there grammar will almost definately be very good. Someone who signs with ASL grammar all the time will probably have a little difficulty writing in perfect grammar.
Also, the level of grammar depends on what kind of schooling a deaf person gets. If they went to a deaf school or a deaf program where ASL grammar was used, their grammar will probably be worse than someone who whent to a hearing school and used an interpreter who signed SEE.
Another thing that may affect the grammar is if a deaf person was ever hearing, because they have heard proper english before they became deaf. In chris's case, he was pretty much born deaf.
I hope that answered your question. If not I can try again. Lol
The level of grammar that a deaf person has really just depends on a lot of different things. For example, there are two main forms of sign language, ASL, how chris signs and SEE. SEE is signed exact english, so everything is signed exactly the way you and I would talk, they include all past and present tenses and used the word and or it. However, ASL grammer is completely different. It is a little hard to explain, but I will try.
