I had that happen once to my eclipse...when I pushed in the clutch (still parked0 I heard a bunch of noise. A kind of clunking..check your pullies and see if there is anything lodged in there bumping around. My pulley actually broke into peices. Did you disco the battery and let it sit? DO NOT run your car with the MAS unplugged.

sounds like you may have damaged the MAS if it runs better when its not plugged in =(

The car wont run right with the MAS unplugged, but if it runs better than when it WAS plugged in, its definately the MAS

MAS reads the incoming air and tells the ecu how much fuel to dump into that air to combust... you need it or you will run lean and waste a ton of gas and the exhaust would probably be smelly! maybe you put the MAS in backwards?

I've driven around with it unplugged...it just eats fuel like crazy and puts the ECU into Limp mode.
