Northwest Unite

Ok so I have been a member of this forum for sometime and to be frank I have some questions.

Why all the hate?

Why cant we all unite for the love of cars (Evo specifically)?

Who the F cares about spelling?

Theres no need for the drama, so why does it happen?

Why cant we all just meet up and have fun?

I often wondered the same thing! I'm part of a few other local clubs, and we all have a ton of fun & do a lot of stuff.

Here it's mostly just drama over something.

Roger that Ryan. Been wondering about this stuff myself. The Evo is the first Asian car I've owned that I gave a f*** about. It was almost 10 years ago that I participated in anything with cars back when I drove my 16V GTi daily. People in the VW scene were all pretty cool back then. Seems these Evo forums are constantly ***** sessions, or people hating on others. I'd love to hang out with more Evo drivers, but I'm older now (32) and really don't give a crap about prepubecent teen jealousy. I want to hang out with mature people with common interests and goals when it comes to the automotive community.

Do you recollect the following conversations awhile ago about the "sightings" thread?

I think that the majority of people who own Evos are out of that prepubecent stage and have some decent level of maturity due to the cost of the Evo, which generally requires a decent paying job, which generally requires the person to be older than, say, 16-18. While there are still some young kids that get an Evo as a gift and choose to be stupid and drive it Fast and Furious style, I think for the most part the Evo community is older. That being said, age doesn't always make people more mature or better drivers. There are plenty of people on this forum who are older than 18 and act like complete idiots and can't seem to get along with anyone. I have never gone on one of those drives that you all put together from time to time, but I think I will go the next time there is one in the Portland area.

Well, its not a pure Evo meet, but there is a DSM meet scheduled for January if you fellas have not got a chance to check it out.

There are 3 total Evos going so far.
All of the people I have met up with before that have gone to DSM meets are all cool, and laid back people.

We always have a great time with our meets and Evos are always welcome.
Give us a heads up on tuners, or the thread over here if you can make it or not or seem interested and we will get you added to the list as soon as you are sure you can make it.

I totally agree with everyone *****ing to eachother, hell some of it starting going on in the Meet thread.

Let me know if anyone has questions. Feel free to get ahold of me.

well put McDougal i will say what few evo guys that i've met like ryan and kory with his sti are pretty kool guys. here i was new to the area and met them on here and headed out to a meet in auburn with them and had a great time. granted i've been pulling some duties on some meets but i try to get out while i can. the auburn meet is pretty good because thiers almost no drama there at all. a lot of people go through great deals and pain just to pull something like that off. ryan and kory if you guys read this thanks for telling me about the shops and the north west. ill be the first to admit if i'm on a road that i know and thiers no one else around ill wind my evo up but i wont do anything stupid like pass a school bus at high speeds or fly down the break down lane. i came from a town where these 16-18 year old kids get sti's and evo's for graduating high school...i still miss my 87 gti that i had back in the day. yes owning a performance car like a evo gets you noticed and can intice drama but aren't we all enthusiasts in the end?

I think that we all speed around from time to time. One perk of my job is that it requires me to do some driving on rural Clark County roads which can be a lot of fun!

Haha. You should give your car to a 16 year old kid who just got done watching any sort of racing movie for one hour and see what happens. That would be interesting to say the least!

I never said anyone was a "hater"

If you will read, I asked: Why all the hate?
