I would just run with what you got. I mean they aren't good enough for all out tracking but will be plenty to get around the track. You *might* have them fade after awhile but evo's brakes are fairly big and its very gradual so you will be able to tell when you need to back off. Its not like corner 9 you have brakes and the next corner theres nothing. If you aren't going ***** to the wall you should be fine...do run good fluid though.

I tracked mine for two events at PR on the stock brakes (everything, pads, fluid, lines, etc.). It works if you keep your sessions at 15 min max and allow for cool down in between. After that I changed to stainless lines, Ferrodo DS2500 pads, and Motul fluid, and that made it pretty much bullet proof. Eventually, I also upgraded front calipers and rotors, but that was really because of wheel fitment, not because of lacking brake performance. The pads are nice on track and on street, but the dust is kind of orange which bothers some people (I have dark wheels so I don't care).

It was my first time on PIR in a car, but I've been on it a few times on a bike, so I wouldn't quite consider myself a first timer/novice driver. The part that's a ***** is after the end of the straight, I think it's turns 4 5 6 7 by the way they count the corners in cars. On bikes we never used the chicane and turn 1 was the end of the straight.

To keep the back end from coming around I had to do a lot of left foot braking thru 5 6 and 7, keep in mind I'm a pretty aggressive driver, and I would definitely suggest NOT using stock pads if you're anything over a first timer and going fast with corners in front of you.

Thats exactly what I ran (PFC97s), with great success.
If he's really a track noob, then he should be ok with his current setup.
Given everything is in good shape.

Fluid is a MUST. Motul RBF, or Super Blue
