FS: Toshiba 46" wide-screen projection TV
FS: Toshiba 46" wide-screen projection TV
SOLD
I'm selling my 3 year old TV. It has awesome picture quality and a very wide viewing angle. Comes with remote, manual, and the optional matching stand which is a large storage compartment. Absolutely nothing wrong with the TV. The stand has some minor damage on the backside, but it's not noticeable. 720p and 1080i HDTV with HDMI input. I love this TV, but my house is small and the living room is filing up with baby stuff, so it's time to go flat panel. You won't be disappointed, pick it up just in time for superbowl! Don't forget to get that DVR cable box to watch in hi-def.

By the way, camera pics don't do the picture quality justice, it looks so much better in person.
Some stats:
FEATURES- 46" TheaterWide 16:9 HD Projection TV
CableClear DNR by Input optimizes signals from RF, Composite and
S-Video connections by eliminating video noise and automatically
adjusting sharpness.
Day/Night Mode sets the television for optimum viewing in any room
environment. The Day/Night Mode will set the television to full
brightness for daytime viewing in rooms with ambient room light.
The Night mode is ideal for dark rooms by reducing brightness to
create the ideal picture for this environment. The Day Mode is used
in full brightness for daytime viewing in rooms with ambient room
light.
SRS WOW technology takes the performance of the television's
existing speakers to a whole new level to offer the consumer
superior sound quality with no additional speakers required.
4-Item Illuminated Universal Remote with DVD Control allows for easy
operation in a dark living room or home theater environment.
-- VIDEO FEATURES --
* 46" Diagonal Wide Tabletop
* PowerFocus HD CRTs
These high quality CRTs, originally used only in HD projections TVs, are
now being incorporated into Toshiba's Analog projection TVs. They
utilize Fine Phosphor, High Beam Current, a Large Electrostatic Lens
Area, and Dynamic Quadruple Focus to achieve 10% More Brightness and 25%
Better Sharpness than Standard CRTs for clear HD images.
* PowerFocus Lens System
* TouchFocus Auto Digital Convergence
This automatic digital convergence system creates perfect corner-to-
corner focus at the press of a button.
* AccuFocus (56 Point Convergence)
AccuFocus is a manual 56-point digital convergence system. It is
included in additional to TouchFocus Auto Digital Convergence, to
provide the user with more options and control for picture convergence.
* Dynamic Quadruple Focus
A cathode ray picture tube (CRT) has an electron gun that sends the
electron beam to the faceplate of the tube to make a picture. The
distance from the gun to the center of the tube is different from the
distance to the edges and corners of the tube. In addition, the angle of
the beam is different, causing an elliptical instead of round beam spot.
Because of this, edge and corner focusing usually suffers. Dynamic
Quadruple Focus adjusts the speed and angle of the electron beam so that
it produces a fine round beam spot everywhere on the tube. This ensures
a sharp clear picture from corner to corner.
* DFine High-Speed Velocity Scan Modulation (VSM)
Improves contrast and overall picture sharpness by changing the speed of
the electron beam as it transitions between bright and dark areas of the
picture.
* Wide Band Video Amplifier
As standard video amplifiers increase the gain of the video signal,
video bandwidth tends to decrease. This eliminates the higher
frequencies, reducing resolution. A wide-band video amplifier maintains
the higher frequencies, enabling higher resolution.
* First Surface Mirror
A first surface mirror places its reflective material on the front of
the mirror. Light is reflected off the front of the mirror without
passing through any glass. By eliminating unnecessary image refraction,
first surface mirrors avoid image degradation and deliver a crisp clear
picture.
* TheaterFine HD Super Fine Pitch Screen
This .52mm design is over 27% finer than conventional screens. It
reduces the physical space between the lines on the lenticular screen,
resulting in a finer, sharper, more detailed picture.
* Built-in TheaterShield
* CrystalScan HDSC
CrystalScan HDSC upconverts all video signals (including 480i/p) to
1080i HD. This results in a significant reduction in jagged-line
artifacts which produces a smoother, more natural image. Selectable
540p, for users who want to display a progressive scan image from a
progressive scan source, is available via the on-screen menu.
* CableClear DNR Video Noise Reducer
Designed to optimize poor NTSC signals from antenna or cable, this new
video noise reduction system eliminates video noise ("snow") for a clean
crisp image.
* HD Dynamic Contrast
Active only in the Sports Mode, this intelligent circuitry adjusts and
separately optimizes the dynamic range in each area of the picture. The
result is a significant increase in contrast and color saturation,
creating deep, rich images.
* 3D Y/C Digital 4Mb/10-bit 3DYC Comb Filter with Vertical Contour
Correction.
This advanced filter analyzes multiple fields of information to
eliminate video noise such as dot crawl and color bleed. Additionally,
the 3DY/C Comb Filter significantly reduces detail noise, seen as
shimmering or flicker, in complex or intricately detailed scenes.
* Color Temperature Control
Most Toshiba televisions provide three user-selectable Color Temperature
settings that affect the sets overall white balance. The "Warm" setting
reduces the color temperature to an NTSC standard 6,500 degrees Kelvin
and is ideal for viewing in a darkened theater room. The "Medium" and
"Cool" settings provide a progressively bluer image for the best picture
as room light levels are increased. Color Temperature Control helps any
user see the best television picture possible for any viewing
environment or preference.
* TruView2 (BLE, Fine White & Color Detail Enhancement)
By combining the following picture enhancement technologies; Black Level
Expansion, Fine White, Flesh Tone Correction and Color Detail Enhanced,
this system automatically reproduces more accurate picture detail and
true color.
* Movie & Sports Mode
Movie Mode changes the basic picture setup conditions to create a more
theater-like picture. User-selectable settings such as brightness,
contrast, color and color temperature are automatically adjusted. In
addition, some normally non-user adjustable settings, such as Velocity
Scan Modulation, are also adjusted. Sports Mode automatically adjusts
appropriate picture levels to produce enhanced color, detail and
brightness.
* Auto Aspect Detection
* TheaterWide Modes
Sets with TheaterWide modes are ideal for displaying HDTV signals as
well as "enhanced for widescreen television" DVDs. Choosing from one of
the modes below will employ varying amounts of cropping, zooming and
stretching to allow a 4:3 image to fill a 16:9 screen, eliminating the
black or gray bars that can appear when widescreen images are wider than
16:9.
- TheaterWide 1: Letterboxed image is digitally expanded 33%
horizontally and vertically. Useful for reproducing Academy Standard
(1.85:1) formatted software.
- TheaterWide 2: Letterboxed image is expanded 33% horizontally and 42%
vertically. Particularly of use when viewing narrow letterboxed images
originally filmed in Panavision or CinemaScope.
- TheaterWide 3: Letterboxed image is expanded 33% horizontally and 24%
vertically. Can be utilized when displaying letterboxed images that
incorporate narrow bands at the top and bottom of the picture.
* Cinema Mode (3:2 Pulldown Switch)
This circuitry identifies original film based content from DVDs. It then
reassembles the frame sequence to more accurately reproduce the original
24 frame film-based material, resulting in a more film-like image
without artifacts
-- AUDIO FEATURES --
* MTS Stereo/SAP with dbx
A Multi-channel Television Sound decoder enables the television to
accept and decode broadcast stereo signals. Unlike some systems that
delete dbx, MTS provides the full quality of the original stereo
broadcast content. SAP (Secondary Audio Program) enables the reception
of bilingual broadcasts, when available.
* StableSound
StableSound eliminates the annoyance of normal program volume being
followed immediately by extremely loud commercial messages or drastic
volume fluctations while changing channels. This feature maintains
television volume within a preset range regardless of the source signal.
* SRS WOW Surround Sound
This combination of three signal processing circuits creates a wide
three-dimensional sound field from two speakers (SRS 3D), boosts bass
frequency perception (TruBass), and raises the sound image vertically to
create clearer, more vivid audio.
* Sub Bass System (SBS)
This system creates a bass boost at and around the 100-cycle audio-
frequency area. This creates a noticeable increase in bottom end and
overall fullness, for an improved home theater sound.
* 30 Watt Audio (Total)
-- CONVENIENCE FEATURES --
* 4-Item Illuminated Universal Remote Control with DVD Control
The Universal Remote Control is preprogrammed to operate the TV, most
brands of VCR, and a cable box. The keys are intuitively positioned to
give you fast access to virtually all TV functions.
* HD Window Dual-Tuner
- HD Window POP (Picture-On-Picture) is a versatile and convenient
feature for the age of HD as it lets the user watch two programs
simultaneously, even HD sources.
- This advanced system can accept 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i signals,
and can even display 4:3 and 16:9 images on the screen at the same
time. The split screen function allows the user to increase or decrease
the size of the POP boxes, making one larger than the other. The
MultiWindow system enables the consumer to continue to view the main
picture in a large POP box while viewing Favorite Channels, or channel
scanning in the other smaller POP boxes.
* Tri-Lingual Color Icon On-screen Display
All TV functions can be easily accessed using the remote control and the
on-screen display. This full-featured system can be operated in
English, French, or Spanish. By using the four cursor buttons on the
remote control, your favorite features or settings are only a click
away.
* Closed Captioning (on Mute)
This feature automatically displays captioned information (if available)
on-screen when the MUTE button is pressed. Captions disappear when the
volume is restored.
* Off/Sleep Timer
The Sleep Timer allows you to fall asleep watching TV and have the TV
turn itself off up to three hours later (in 10-minute intervals).
* V-Chip
* Channel Return
Pressing this button returns you to the last channel you were viewing.
This allows you to easily switch back and forth between two channels.
* Power Return
If the power to the TV is discontinued while the TV is on, the TV power
will return when power is restored. This is useful when the TV is
connected to a switched outlet such as on a cable box.
* Noise Muting
Audio noise (or hiss) will be muted when the TV tuner is on a channel
without a signal.
* Favorite Channel
This feature allows you to designate up to nine of your most frequently
viewed channels as favorite channels. Engaging this feature will allow
you to scan only your pre-selected favorite channels. Two independent
sets of nine channels can be selected, allowing two different viewers to
enjoy this feature on one set.
* Channel Lock
This feature allows you to lock out channels that you do not want
children to view. These channels can be unlocked by inputting your
secret code.
* Channel Labeling
Allows you to put a maximum of 32 three-digit Call Letters (e.g. ABC,
HBO, etc.) on the screen along with corresponding station numbers, so
you always know what channel you're watching.
* Video Lock
This feature enables you to lock out either all video inputs or all
