Billy- Need your opinion. Thinking of putting a deposit on one of these two kits:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=329770

or

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=324473 combined with a 3076R or the 3040R that Peakboost offers.

I know the price difference is alot, but that's ok

Oh and I replied to your reply about the intake....why don't you like the AEM? Lucas prefers it over the other you mentioned. He says the longer the better. That sounds funny.

are you planning to stay 2.0 or looking to go to a 2.3?

Honestly I wouldn't go with ether of those kits, hta3076, have ets hook you up! Spool will be great, my best friend david was saying that the 3076 would be the best option for a street car, and he is using it on an 8 so you will have even better spool on the 9, i think it would make your car an amazing track beast.

I just really like the top mount. Easier to get to everything. I could put a HTA3076 on it.
Eventually later this year I'd like to go 2.3L

I've been talking back and forth with the guy selling it and I'm really leaning towards it. I can make a deposit now and pay the rest within 3 months. That gives me time to get everything together, find a buyer for my Green etc, without feeling rushed.

has there been any threads debating a power difference between a normal style of manifold and the top mount? Or is mostly for convince and novelty? But the manifold really is a nice piece, im not hating on the idea trying play devils advocate a little bit

I really do like the idea of your car with an hta3076 a 2.3 and meth!!!!!

Oh hell yeah man, me too. I know what you are saying and I appreciate it. I don't have anything against ETS, infact I think they are great and have their pipe, but I really like the top mount. Convenience mostly, but they call it HVS, supposed to high volume....take that for what it's worth. I'll have to do some more research I guess.

I'm going to getting a place in Renton in April so I'm looking forward to hanging out with people over there more. When is the next dyno? Lucas is wanting to go 100% meth and get me some better numbers.

BTW the car really opened up with the new exhaust. That old one was crunched down to I'd say less than 2" at the bend near the axle. I'll try to get a pic of it up. Car flies now.

have you ever removed the a/c system on an evo? I'm wanting to do it since my compressor is bad. I picked up a new (used) compressor, but I figure since the car isn't a daily anymore, I can stand to lose it and make up some of the weight that the cage added.

Thanks man. Yeah I like the EP, fun, gets great mileage....I get 35 on the hwy. DOn't happen to know someone with some stock springs for an EP do you?

This came dumped on some cheap, low-level Tein coilovers and I really want to make it non-flashy and ride as smooth as possible....maybe even take off the HKS exhaust and put a stock or hidden tip on it.

Never did it, and not sure i want to, but i am always down to help out. I stopped looking at an evo for now, i have 2 that i am putting together for friends, so that has kind of killed the need, plus i think i severely damaged my tranny this morning, so im not looking forward to spending the money to fix it.

Go with the .63 hotside since you are looking to make a circuit car and favor spool over RAW horsepower. Smaller housing with a stroker and MIVEC will be a very potent combo I think.
