safety specs for the track
safety specs for the track
i have looked for info on what safety things i might need for PIR and Woodburn tracks, any website or into that might tell what helmet, if you need, a roll cage and what not, i know that it matters what your time is but i cant seem to find any info on it , any help would be great.
If you're on a roadcourse it all depends on your class. If you're doing SCCA or whatever, their website has massively overcomplicated rule sets depending on what class(es) you're building your car for.
Regardless, if you're just looking for lapping days, you have to have a Snell approved helmet, working seatbelts (factory belts are acceptable), and your car has to pass inspection done in the morning before your car sees the track regardless. No fluids leaking, brakes in working condition, brake pad thickness must be > 2.0mm (brake lights too) Battery must be securely mounted.
Typical rules also apply even for drag racing... no shorts, closed toed shoes.
Regardless of what you want to do, common sense comes to play... if your brakes don't work, don't be on a race track.

What type of racing are you trying to prepare for? Each club and every class has their own rules. There's a lot more to it if you're getting into sanctioned racing as they delegate suspension, engine/drivetrain, even rollcage specifications.
Unfortuantely a general question of, 'how do I make my car racing legal?' is way too vague for what you want to do. WRC and SCCA use different rulebooks, as well as NOPI, NHRA, etc etc etc etc etc.
The hard part is getting your car legal for it's class, the racetrack doesn't care much as long as you pay an entrance fee.
If all else fails, call the local track and ask them.
