Spokane raceway park

Spokane raceway park was officially sold to Spokane County today at a public auction for little over $3.9 billion.

The County said it is going to keep it a racetrack and try to develop some unused parcels to benefit the communities in the area. Also going to use it as a facility for law enforcement training, high speed driving and such, and will renovate some of the trackside stuff and bring it up to date.

They plan on having it open and using it as a track in about a month.

thanks for the update.

so this is going to be run by the city? I hope they follow portlands methods then.

with PR the way it is Spokane is becoming more and more pretty.

I was talking to a guy a few weeks ago, his take was that PR will sell out once it gets done mining for rock chips. Well, now they will wait for the market to improve, but he has a point, who else will step in to buy it when its value as development property is pretty attractive.
I hope he is wrong.

Not the city, its spokane county.

The track is outside of spokane city limits. There was talk on the news about Airway Heights, the track is technically there, running the renovation process and overseeing the Rec center they are planning to build.
