^^Why not? HID's, aluminum roof, bilsteins, bbs wheels, cf accents you dont think raise the price? GL finding a nice MR for under $27k. GSR's can be had quite easily for $25k. Imo which may be the better deal depending on plans of the car. Personally I think an SE if the best evo made...have fun finding one.

Its true I have driven every kind of 8 and 9 (and 1's and 3's) there is, they are really all good, just know the weakness in the mr's, its nothing to avoid just something to be aware of

one day the suspension will go and be replaced with something, and how many evos rock stock rims for ever? What does that leave? The same roof that is in an rs, a weaker tranny, and some carbon fiber. I think they do raise the price, but i dont think that it is worth paying a raised price, i also dont think they are good enough to warrant letting a nice none mr pass you by.

I agree somewhat. If a good deal comes across on a GSR it wouldn't be smart to pass it up. Imo I couldn't stand an RS...no power anything headlight are about as bright as my fogs and no ABS would drive me nuts. Make a good track car though. But who around here has enough $$$ to buy an evo just for a track car. 6sp may be indeed all out weaker at high hp but will all the highschool kids that now get these cars they get wrecked 90% of the time before they get the chance to dump the clutch enough times

i would disagree. coming from me. (who owns an MR) i think i can honestly say that i have launched my car at least more than 50+ times. hence the reason for a new clutch at 15k miles and i'm only 18
but going on about the 6 spd tranny i haven't had a problem with it at all actually. when i race other gsr's or rs's they think that the MR is slow just because of it's tranny but in all reality it doesn't matter about the car it all boils down to the driver. i mean i beat a 400 hp SE off the line and i only had hard pipes, EBC, and TBE.

not saying i'm a good driver because my car is without a t-case or niether do i mean to brag. just trying to prove a point.

facts of the mr tranny

an extra shift in the 1/4 sucks
4-6 is smaller then a dsm's gears
parts are more expensive to fix due to it being out sourced

The tranny is not horrible, it just has weakness's

Another fact...regular IX 5sp only allows 1.5mph more at 7800rpm. So you will have to shift the 5sp too when you trap higher than 116.
