Oregon Trail Rally THIS WEEKEND in/around Portland

Hey all,

Friday starts the 2008 Oregon Trail Pro Rally with stages Friday evening at Portland International Raceway. We'll be there into the night with lights and brake rotors ablaze. PIR Stages include on and off track laps inside and out side the facility with TONS of great spectator areas and the ability to get up close and personal with all the drivers and teams.

My EVO didn't get finished in time for this event so after winning the PGT class last year at OT, this year I find myself running the Pit Crew for a buddy. But I'll be around if anyone wants to stop by and chat.

Saturday kicks off with a super cool super stage at the Hillsboro Fairgrounds including the first WATER SPLASH crossing we've had in a spectator area in the 9 years I've been Rallying. DON'T MISS THAT!!!

From there, we head to Vernonia and race around the local mountains for the day.

Sunday is up the trask river way between Vernonia and Tillamook and then the finish is back at the Water Splash in Hillsboro along with the Awards Ceremony.

Don't forget... Travis Pastrana, Ken Block, Tanner Foust, "Cowboy" Kenny Bartram and more will be on hand for autographs and picture ops.

It's gonna be GREAT!

Details and schedules AND spectator maps can be found at:

OregonTrailRally.com

See you there!

RALLYDSM,

Hey Great Post!

Everyone should come by the PERRIN Performance Autograph booth on Friday and get all the drivers autographs during the parc expo too.

You know, if Perrin Sponsored me this year, I could sign autographs too.

I won my class last year in an 18 year old car. In fact, we were 5th Overall in Regional behind 4 Open Class cars and in front of another 5 Open Class cars and WELL ahead of the next PGT car.

This year, in the new EVO... I pity the competition.

But... as I said, the car is beached with a busted tranny and despite trying to find one to stuff in quick enough to race, NO LUCK.

Last year, OT had 79 entries and 51 were Subarus. I'm the local chair of the "anything but Subaru" committee so I count these things. Not that I don't like Subaru's or anything like that... I just like diversity.

So Perrin, how's about stepping up to get another marque in the race? Plus, I have just completed a deal to get MORE EVO's into the PGT class. When I make it public, there will be a HUGE flood of these cars in Stage Rally. The only reason you don't see more is they have to go into OPEN class and compete with the HUGE budget guys....

Now, EVOs will not only compete but DOMINATE the Class and bump Subaru off the podium!

I'll get off my soap box now. I just would like to see more Mitsu's race. And I'm bummed because I don't get to race and hopefully win again this year at OT. Next events are a few weeks off and I'm still trying to get there.

So if you CAN help, I wouldn't turn it down.

Yeah... I could have got it installed in time too!

Wasn't that a pisser? One Radiator cap and $3000 down the drain!!!

That car is gone now, by the way. Rebuilt it, faster than ever... then sold it when I got the EVO. It's local though. See it at every Rally Cross now.

I sure miss that car. Mostly because it's 100% ready to Rally and my EVO... well... isn't.

So yeah, you SHOULD have sole me your engine... or I could have just borrowed it for the weekend. LOL!

All I can say for both of us is: Hindsight is 20/20! LOL!

I'm selling my Mirage and Eclipse to finally get an Evo(and simplify my life), I've only wanted one for 10 years.

Who are you servicing for this weekend? I'll have to stop by and say hi.

Well....

After a long pull today getting the car ready for the Rally, the Service Truck took a dump. So Mike might actually NOT make the event this weekend. Jury is still out on that but if we ARE there, we are car #220

If not, we'll still be there but as spectators. PM me if you want to pick a place to meet up or something.

Hope to see you there.

Scott
