Time Attack Today

Just seeing if anyone is going to the Mazda Time Attack this evening? Our black evo 8 is signed up for the unlimited class ( word is there is a new GTR running in our class that is lightly modified)

The GTR was not that modded. He ran top time of all the street cars (second best time overall) in the time attack at a 1:22.1, and on friday night he ran an 11.2@122 at the drags.

Third best was Wayne in his Evo, at a 1:25 something.

How much slower is PIR now after the pave job? My stock engine evo IX on RA1s would get into the 1:29's with stock suspension. A buddy of mine used to get his stock engine, weight S2000 with RA1s and wing into the 1:27s. Stock Z06s on hoosiers (during a DE probably going 9/10s) used to drop into the 1:23-1:24. I haven't been out since they repaved. Are times much slower or roughly the same overall? It looks like 10 is much slower now, but 7-8 should be faster.

edit: You guys have any video of the day? Spend all that money to make a car that can race at least drop a camera in and share!

edit2: I would say that GTR was fairly modified. It's got new suspension, weight reduction, hoosiers, and around 85-100HP more then stock from what I could find out searching the internet for the Cobb GTR.

The track has barely changed as of now, as the pavement is broken in traction will be less and the times will actually get a little slower. As for times if your street car is running in the 20s high at that then youve got a very fast street car ( i beleave there was a single turbo rx7 making roughly 400 whp running in the 28's). There was a s2000 there that had a small amount of power upgrades but some pretty nice suspenision upgrades along with front and rear down force, i think he was running in the 29 maybe dipping in the 28's. The GTR though in our eyes was lightly modded, were talking about a car that competes against some of the fastest cars on the planet in factory form. By modifying that car at all it makes it a very fast car. I think for PIR if youve got a car that runs in the low 30s high 20's then youve got a pretty fast car, if your running in the teens then you could compete against some of the forumla mazda cars ( which are under powered formula one cars ).

That would be awesome! I don't feel like my evo is a fast street car. It's stock engine full weight IX SSL, RA1's (255), on MR bilsteins with lowering springs, a 25mm sway bar on full stiff and race pads. It was before the repave which is why I asked about the times now. I have a video of if and that's what I'm timing off. It's not perfect, but it's close enough to see it's 1:29.

On these time attacks what are the rules? Do you have to have a cage? Can you post a link to the rules and classes of cars? Man, I wish I had gone out there if just to watch.
