I haven't dealt with them, but be really careful with people installing alarms.
When I bought my evo, it had the biggest hack job inside it. So many of the wrong wires were spliced. Now i'm having issues with my cooling fan.
I've seen horror stories where someone had an alarm installed and the car had to be totalled out because the person who installed the alarm spliced into the wire harness so badly that it fried the harness and it became a fire hazard. (and that was from circuit city or best buy)
Be careful.

I agree,
I installed car audio for about 11 years and you really need to be carefull on who handles your car. I know a guy up in Washington that runs a shop that I worked with for 4 years, here is the link http://www.audiointegrations.net/Contact.html his name is Todd and he's is the only one i can trust.
I'm sure there are other installers that people can recommend thats closer but I figured I would put in my 2 cents
thanks guys, any help is welcome.. I'm really just trying to find a Compustar Pro dealer since I'm planing on picking up one of their pro line alarms. Compustar only honors their warranty if it was installed by a Compustar Pro dealer.
From all the dealers on Compustars web page that I called and talked to, Zack at THE SOUND CHOICE seemed to know everthing I wanted, had a good price and from what he told me about his installs seems like he'd take the time to get it right.. But I'm in the end flying blind here so I thought I bring it up to you guys and see what you had to say.. if you knew the place.. anything good or bad about it..
Also if you want to point me to a place you really like, dont be shy.. I'll be picking up my Evo at English on tue/thu ish then heading up to seattle for the weekend, I could stop any where in between Portland and Seattle. So fire away...
thanks again guys

Unfortunately i dont think he is....
I see your point with having it done by a Compustar dealer, I would want to keep a warranty on anything I purchase. Hopefully someone that has dealt with sound choice could chime in and give there 2 cents so that way you can have an idea of what quality shop they are.

I had mine (same alarm) installed by them. They have very different way of treating customers car vs Cartoys. no loose wires, everyting been routed right with zipties, etc. I def. recomend them. Owner himself does installs and he did a few evos besides mine so they do know where to tap in.
Well I ended up taking it to these guys (THE SOUND CHOICE)
and I'm supper happy with the install. Zach the installer there is a really great guy too.. I ended up paying extra to have everything soddered and shrink wrapped, but from what you guys where saying i think it was money well spent..
There was a little hitch, Zach called on sat to tell me it was done, and ask "oh buy the way did it always make the buzzing sound when the key is turnd to 'on'? " I thought he was hearing the fuel pump prime becuse of the AEM so I said yes it did.. But when I showed up to pick the car up there was a really loud buzz comming from under the hood.. traced it down to be comming from the AEM boost control solenoid.. so I started to freak out a little becuse I've never heard that before and no way I've missed it all this time.. So Zach started going thru the alarm install doing his damnist to find out what could have happen.. ended up just about pulling the the whole install everthing but the wiring. and we traced it down to pin #11 on the AEM. So I start thinking man, this guy fryed my ECU. well to make it shorter, turns out after 4 hours of pulling everything out and tracing it down I hear back from Lucas saying "yep thats normal for it to buzz" haha.. so Zach sticks it all back together and he even thows me a few nice freebee's for 'keeping me so long' haha great guy..
So after putting him through all that the least I could do is hop on here and tell you guys what a great place The Sound Choice is, and Zach.. Since he ended up almost pulling everthing I got to see what the whole install looked like and everything looked super clean he did a great job on it..
Bottom Line: need a Compustar install around portland?
go to "The Sound Choice" talk to Zach
There a Pro dealer too so you keep the Compustar warranty if you want there top of the line alarms..
Oh by the way.. I got home, threw to the key to on, stepd out, no buzzing..... what the hell??? haha

yeah Drew there is a super cool dude, (dont know if thats who your talking to)
I just ended up not going with Illtech becuse its said on the Compustar web page that you need a Pro dealer to install a pro series alarm or Compustar would void there warranty on it... However its a really good system so in most cases you hopefuly wouldnt need it, but i just wanted that peace of mind.
I did have 5 -10 people tell me to go to Illtech, that they'er really good there. so I'm sure you'll be more then fine... you'll love the alarm too..
