Bremerton yesterday.

I don't know how many of you have road raced. If you haven't you really should try it. We were going to attend the lapping day that Speedware Motorsports was going to host at Pacific Raceways. Turns out it got cancelled because Mitsubishi North America wanted that track day, and well I guess they have plenty of money to pony up for whatever day they want. We searched online and came up with BSCC. So we signed up. It was the perfect event for doing shake downs. It was open all day there was two groups of people but you just go on track whenever and however long you want. One guy in a miata did 190 miles. We went through about a tank of gas. I met a bunch of really nice people including a local computer guy that has a stock evo. He is a member of this board even. Great guy! I rode passenger in his car once, he really hustled the car well. He instructs for ALFA club sometimes. Over all it was alot of fun for 80 dollar entry fee.

Just a heads up You have to have high speed track experience or your not aloud to go out. And your car must pass Tech and have a helmet. But it's nothing like running SCCA. There was only two other cars in trailers. The other 37 cars were daily drivers.

Here are a few pics and what not. It sucks at Bremerton because you can only spectate at one turn. Very limited photos.

Yeah, I actually heard that several times at the track. I saw trees being logged and the scrap yard that is right down the street is moving but the bizarre thing is they have a fancy brand new razor wire fence around the property.

I have never been a huge fan of bremerton. We never go there because the track is not that great. But it is a great opertunity for open lapping for people on a budget. I guess it will hurt the grass-roots type people the most.

Big +1 for BSCC... one of the most fun clubs around.
Another +1 for Bremerton as an event site. It is one of the better autoX sites as well.

I didn't realize we're losing Bremerton, I haven't been there for quite a while. Lots of car clubs use it for their car control clinics. The road course they set up is a blast, great for learning since its much safer than Pacific raceways, but murder on the brakes.

yea, bremerton definately has been more fun than a barrel of monkies over the years......it IS a crappy little track in so many ways, but i think thats what gives it it's charm.....no worries.....just lapping....so it's really not a bad track afterall.....EVERYBODY has fun at bremerton

but i think i see an opportunity for a shameless plug for my corn-ball web site

www.northwestracecalendar.com

no money being made...just a list of all the lapping days in washington and south canada.....something for the community

oh and....pstt..........alfa day comming up on sept 11th

I saved it this time. Doesn't look like a whole lot going on local for Sep. I know I am going to plan on the Oct. 10th and 12th days though.

ahh....there are allways suit wearing business guys threatening to take our track and turn it back into an airport or a McDonnalds......if things ever got that serious i'm sure it would be a battle amongs locals vs local politians but i'm not too worried about it.........a lot of the revisions have had to do with the fact that homeland security has taken over the grounds immediately ouside the track.....thats where the fences come in......so don't wander off y'all!

they were threatning to bring NASCAR out here, but the local population voted that down....folks out here like to keep stuff small time.....if they didn't, they'd all live in the city allready!
