Jake.. Federal Law.. If no Rear Reforcement (crash Bar) if it removed.. and Got Rear End or Collision... found out ur Rear bar is missed... IT cost more repair add list go on.. and Insurance can Denied repair Anthorzied beacuse owner removed Front or Rear Crash bar. when got in addicent, more damage struction and body..

Federal Law is strict and Insurance follow Federal law.. that why,

U can Fight in Court.. but U will lose beacsue Judge had follow Federal Law of Automotive safety.. but u can sue for injury or cause addcent.. but Judge will give u about less as u expect..

U know ya.. but I recommend everyone leave Reforcement or Modifity to shorty or get JDM rear crash bar... insurance will still cover it and pay damage fees

We get all Automotive bulltines Everyday or monthly and all laws and strict get stricter..

Too much people try fraud or rip off with insurance.. sadly.

Or you can do what I did. Cut the mounting point and had it rewelded on. It was 10 bucks to get it welded on. Fits like a glove!

Yea. No problem. I found a better solution then sending it in. I had to put it on since I didn't want to get rear ended and insurance to deny the repair.

Sorry gotta say, FALSE its not up to the court to decide if it will hold up or not, if you do not have a crash beam an insurance adjuster decides the outcome. The purpose of the beam is to maintain the structural integrity of the car, if you remove it sorry you're SOL. I'm sure if they decide not to cover the vehicle, you can make a claim for bad faith, that is what may not hold up in court.

I have a modified crash beam, looks like stock, I got into an accident with my jdm rear and didn't have my beam, my Sponsoring body shop chewed me out they wouldn't release the vehicle back to me until I had a beam as it is a major safety concern no matter how fast another car is traveling to have hit you

Yeah. when Me and my friend installing the bumper he asked me if I want to remove the beam. I said No Way. We gotta figure something out to make this thing fit.

Did you ever get that on? I wasn't gonna put it on but I thought about it. I had to keep it on. So it took me the whole day to do my rear. About 6 hours. I was byself thats why. Now it fits really nice. Chris saw it. Next step the Voltex rear diffuser!

Yeah, its on there. lucky me when I bought my car the previous owner gave the bumper to me. it fits perfect and everything. the license plate holder is the only thing is not fit right.

Hes right, not to mention the long list of implications and cost associated with going to court to fight something like this. For 35 bucks it is thoroughly worth it to modify your crash beam, not to mention that 5mph/ 2.5mph 'crashes' are not that uncommon and can leave you with a hefty bill for a new bumper that caved when the soccer mom and her POS van decide to have some face time with your Evo.

Sorry I didnt answer the OPs question, but when people on here spout off about certain modifications being 'okay', individuals that know better need to say something, and crash beam removal being okay seems to be a common misconception.
