Evos in Salt Lake City, UT

Hey guys. I just bought an 2003 evo 8 from the auto auction here in town. Long story short that car has lots of problems.
Heater not working
Single knock noise after i let go the clutch on first gear at about 5000 rpms.
Brand new battery keeps dying on me.
When i first got it the spark plug on cylinder #2 was wet and the engine kept stalling.
Any ways, i need someone who knows about evo's here in Salt Lake to help me with this problems.
Please pm me with any info you got on this and someone affordable to work on it. Thanks guys!!!

for starters...

heater core is clogged/leaking/bad

knock noise is the rear diff shifting under it's weak mounts...that is, if you're talking about a knock coming from the rear of the car

check the battery to see if it isn't a lemon...then check terminals, etc. describe how it's "dying" on you. dying at start? starts but then dies driving down the road? more details please

sucked in water? highly unlikely but possible. car was probably sitting for a long time. i'd change all spark plugs, change the oil/filter and go from there...

The battery that i'm talking about dies overnight. If i jump it in the morning it will start right up and ran all day but the next day is dead. I don't know what's the freaking problem.

It seems that the knock comes from the engine/turbo becuase the car losses power and then when i shift to second it recovers the boost again.

Could the problem with the heater be the radiator?

My new spark plugs will come tomorrow, then will see how it runs. Thanks for you help. I'll keep posting as i get further into it.

If your battery is dying you have a power leak. In other words, sounds like your wiring COULD be messed up. Have you got into the dash yet to see any wires that may have been screwed with?
