Help with suspension? Need a shop for removing springs from shocks

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone knows any shop or anyone that has a wall-mount spring compressor. I want to remove the stock MR springs and replace them with some Swift MRs. The Bilsteins are not on the car anymore so it should be easy for a shop to just remove the stock springs and put the new ones on. I know I can use regular spring compressors by hand but I had a bad accident with those a couple years ago and I don't want to use them again. If anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it. I'll even give you a private Evo photoshoot for your car

Any decent sized Firestone or Les Schwab should have one. Should be a quick an easy affair. I know alot of people like Westwerks (spelling?), maybe they could do it too.

Last time I took it to Firestone they would only remove the springs but they would not put the new springs on. This was for a G35. I don't know why...sigh I hope I can find someone to do it cause 4 years ago a spring compressor came loose (my stupid buddy) and it flew inches from my face so I vowed not to get near them anymore.

do you have air tools? just stand on the spring, undo the top nut, and let the F'ers fly. Used to do it all the time on VW's. usually aftermarket springs are a little shorter and you may not need compressors.

I don't have air tools unfortunately and I'm still scared of a situation where the spring will fly towards my face like last time

Your in Seattle so G2motorsports isn't far away. Awesome place for suspension work, corner balancing, and alignments. Pretty alright rates too, probably wouldn't cost much.

Excellent! I'm right by that area too, do you know how much he'd charge to take off 4 springs and put the new ones onto the struts?

Would be like 45 bucks or so. Also we can do your alignment afterwards. Have no problem getting lowered cars onto the rack. We have extended ramps specifically for lowered cars. Give me a call tomorrow anytime after 8. 425 821 8304. My name is Bob

The reason the most places will not put on springs for you is because they are not willing to take on the liability of something bad happening to a spring of unkown quality wither it be new or used.

Go to shucks and rent a spring compressor, it is cheap

http://www.omnibrake.com/ in Kirkland does the local Porsche club alignments. I usually drive alllll the way up to Kirkland too just to get my cars aligned plus they do all kinds of suspension work. Patrick, the owner, is a nice old guy and will take good care of you.

Clarks, Omni, Group 2, all are excellent. Pick the one that's closest and/or least expensive.
