Racing Opportunity for Crew and staff members
Some of you might have remembered my post from last year regarding our racing program. Well we have some new crew openings for 2009. Thought I would see if anybody in the Evo world might be interested in joining our race team. We had an awesome year last year and we are expanding for 09'.
As a backround...we compete in SCCA SPEED World Challenge GT Series. I have opportunities to add 2+ new crew members. Our racing shop is located in the Cornelius/Hillsboro area in Oregon.
What I am looking for is what we call "home crew". You would help out with prepping the cars for the next race, including chassis set up; help out at test days at the track in the Northwest and other misc team duties. Prior motorsports experience isn't really necessary.
These entry level positions are volunteer. Most guys come out to the shop 2 nights per week and on some saturday's as well. It all depends on your work and family schedule. It’s all very flexible.
If you have a desire to learn about racing, chassis setup and other areas in motorsports, then you may want to think about this. Got to be honest, the hours may be long but all the guys have a great time doing what they do. It’s a pretty wild and crazy group but very dedicated. Do you like go-karting? More on that later!!
Starting in January, we will be tearing down our current Vipers down to a bare chassis and re-assembling from there. Our first race is down in Sebring and we only have 90 days to prepare. It would be a great time to have you join us and check out all the behind the scenes of getting ready for a race season during this time.
If you’re interested, pls drop me an email at cindi@luxperformance.com. If you want to learn about the team, check this out....www.cindilux.com
Also check out this racing video from last year...Click here for year in review
If you have any questions or want to come out to the shop to check it out, just let me know. Again, I know we don't race Evo's but maybe someday!
Thanks,
Cindi Lux

We are fairly flexible on schedules. We really try to work together on what works best for the individual. Obviously during the days is preferred but usually difficult to do for most.
The only thing that we try to establish is continuity and reliability. Its important to develop somewhat of a routine. But again, everybody's schedule is different so we take it one person at a time.
Does that help?
Drop me an email or give me a call to answers any more questions. Would be fun to get some the Evo folks involved.
Thanks.

This sounds like a great opportunity and I'd love to take part of this. I'll be moving within the next 1-2 months to the Oregon area - are you looking for any specific prior experience? I'll be taking some courses come March but I could always schedule around that =P
