Service Engine Soon Light

Came on today on my drive home from work. Everything 'seems' fine, manual just says See Dealer. Any suggestions on where I should take it in the Seattle area to get it checked out/reset?

Probably due to your high flow cat. If you plan on modding it further, just go buy an obd-II scanner, you'll use it once a week! It'll pay for itself.

Contact Inneedof and see if you can arrange a meeting. He is in Puyallup so its not exactly next door, but he freelances for us and is more than capable of checking and clearing the code and depending on what it is, disabling it as well.

Just go to any autoparts store and have them read the code, post what the code is in this thread, then we can figure out the best way to take care of the situation.

Autozone, Advance Auto Parts, OReilys, Pep Boys, all have OBD scanners that you can use.

Ok went to schucks this morning. OBDII sensor read:
P0420
Catalytic System Below Efficient
Bank 1 O2 Sensor

I have not changed anything in the last year and the Service Engine Soon light came on over the weekend (snow days). Is it possible that the code popped due to the weather?

Reset the code and waiting to see if it returns. Advice?

Thanks.

How many miles are on your car? Could just need a new o2 sensor on the o2 housing..

What brand HFC? This code will usually come up with a true HFCs and cold weather.

CEL eliminator will work. Or just get a anti-plug fouler and drill it out. Add it to your 2nd O2 Sensor.

Its from Works

I hope the code was due to the cold weather last week.
