Team Continental Driving school
For everyone wanting to get involved with taking their Evo (or other cars) to the track, team continental has released their driver's school schedule.
www.teamcontinental.com
Dates listed are: (rain or shine)
Saturday Feb. 21 - PIR
Friday March 20 - PIR
Saturday June 27 - PIR
Friday October 9 - ORP
You get approximately 4 20 minute sessions at full race speeds, and an instructor for going out. There's 3 driver's groups, novice, intermediate, and advanced. For all new people, they hold a classroom session the day before where they talk about vehicle dynamics and driving styles. After the track day they hold a free BBQ in a race shop with free food and beer. Prices this year are $195.
You wanted to put your car on a road track, this is the way to do it. T.C. typically has around 80 volunteers who take time off work to do this. There's corner workers and instructors in most cars instructors are not required, but highly suggested if it's your first time on the track.
If you've ever looked into racing schools, they're expensive, this is an affordable solution that gets you and YOUR car on the track. If you want to go, I suggest you preregister like right now, these classes fill up FAST, and you definately get your money's worth.

Yeah, they insure a safe envornment, not to mention they're all racers. It's a lot of fun, there's usually various clubs there ranging from oldskool mini's to Ferrari's. The instructors will let you mess up as long as your not endangering anyone, and you play by their rules. (Passing is heavily regulated, passing is only allowed on the straights (every track day I've done in P'Town is regulated like this) Not to mention T.C. are just downright good people and racing enthusiasts. You might get better racing instruction at one of the 'professional' schools, but every instructor races, and has a very good knowledge of the track. (except turn 6, no one can figure out that f'ing corner!)
PIR is alright. TC is an awesome club for noobs. they have a great program for learning. for usual track ****** i'd stay away. pretty much everyone has an instructor, which i'm not saying is a bad thing. The passing rules are ok, i don't consider them exactly safe. Passing on the left on the front strait just isn't safe to me. If the person doesn't get over in the front then you can get them in the back strait which is off camber and less safer than on the front strait, imo. Passing on the right in the front strait is the only way that is safe to me.

Heh, I love passing on the outside on the back straight. The farther out you go, the looser my car gets, I've even had some 4 wheel slides back there. It's easily contollable, considering you're at full throttle the whole time
Take a good look at the Oregon PCA, they have track days Feb 28th and March 1st as well.
If you want to be on track all day, look at the Adrenaline Racing track days. Higher entry fee, but you can literally be on track from 9am-4pm.
