I wasn't planning on making the cover... just saw a piece of metal laying around and dived into it with no plan...I did all this with a dremel and a drill

Why not? No reason, except that it's not necessary. If it was, Mitsu engineers would have done something about it.

I have read numerous threads about failed cam sensors due to heat... the stock maifold is cast it actually produces a lot of heat... Lots of things that we do aren't necessary, and I have done a lot of stuff to my car that isn't necessary, but I do it because its something I wanna do... And about mitsubishi engineers... they do a really great job with a lot of things, some things can be approved upon. For example... I had a really weird set of stock cams in my EVO that would run about 10-15 degrees less timing than every other set besides Kaymin, as he had the same exact problem...look at how rich the stock AFR map is from the factory, that seriously can be improved upon. If everything was perfect from the get go, there would be no use for the aftermarket industry...

Yeah that 1.5 oz is really gonna hamper things... that is like putting a CD in the player... Considering I have an SSL, I don't think I am worried about weight savings

I doubt that the additional weight will be an issue. If so he could always carry less change in his pocket!

Are you saying that the evo has no faults? There were alot of things on the evo that Mitsu engineers over looked.
