Seattle: What tires are you replacing you stocks with?
Im looking to get set of tires for year round Seattle driving. Advans are great, but not for wet winters and too $$$$. What do you guys use/suggest....
If you ski or plan on going into the mountains at all get a set of dedicated winter tires. Any tire is a trade off between dry and wet traction and you need all the performance you can get from a tire on the evo in dry weather.

i jus got some Dunlop Z1 star specs 255/40ZR17 on stock BBS's and i love them amazing grip in the corners...definatly a good autocross tire tho not exactly meant for tons and tons of miles or winter driving
I'd disagree. I drove everyday in the snow we had this year, which was quite a bit. Lots of ice, and lots of deep powder. My proxy 4s did just fine. I never once lost control of my car. That being said, I believe many all season tires do just fine on the evo w/ snow.
Im sorry kuhmos really arent that great
the ku31's need to be replaced all the time for tq cracking and other misc things
the AST's are just cheap and not worth it
i loved my snow tires and i wouldnt go any other way, under 35 degrees nothing out preforms a snow tire, tread compound stays soft and they kick ***
star specs are summer only, they're pretty garbage in the rain and winter, love them for summer though
My only problem with the gt's is they're ****ing loud as hell. its because they're a square molding not a clam shell molding like the majority of tires today, Goodyear does that with most of they're tires now
