I have a question .
Ok, I have my car tuned (flashed). I was told when I'd be beating on the the car hard My Engine light will be flashing. I'm OK with that.
But will the light come ON if something major will happen to the engine ?
Is it programmed into the map ?
Maybe I just don't understand the concept what the flash means !

Who told you that? Who tuned your car? When that light is flashing, depending on the tune, it could be that knock is being registered. Does it do this when you go high rpm WOT through the gears? You might want to have someone look at this with you.

BTW - it should come on if something major happens but I have seen instances where it doesn't. It is not tied into everything.

Not always. Depends on who tuned it and what technology was available to the tuner at the time. It is very easy to turn it off, keep it off, and even pass emissions. 401 is usually just because the EGR line popped off. Put it back on and put a zip tie around it.

EGR- It will be under the TB on the firewall side of the intake manifold.

Cams- Do you need us to supply all the parts as well?

I wouldn't say you're screwed but you might want to try different gas. Another test - put in a couple gallons of race gas before you refill next and see if it goes away. If it does you might want to hit up ER for a tune or even go back to DO and let them know what you're experiencing (a little more conservative is what it sounds like you need). Another option to think about is whether you should run water/meth injection, or e85.

I'm using Shell gas. I will call them tomorrow and talk to em. Maybe I'll get Bill from DO to hook up his laptop and drive with me to see the problem.

when I was in Chicago, I talked to AMS people and they don't recommend to use meth or water injection due to possible problems with it. I was always skeptical about these injections. I'd use E-85 but its not sold here locally. I think nearest is in Issaquah and then Olympia.
