Need Help With Engine Light!

I had my car tuned awhile back My engine light came on about a week ago and it won't turn off.
I reset it a few times and it turned off but came back on again. What should i do. Oh, I still have my o2 simulator on my exhaust. I wonder if thats the problem? Help?

So....

Take the keys to your Evo... and the car itself.. and return to the nearest Mitsubishi dealership. Your Evo card has been revoked.

The check engine light IS the Service Engine Soon light. See how both of them say engine in them? Methinks they must be the same.

Also, if you insist on keeping your Evo, you can take it to any parts store where they can attach a scanner to the computer and see what the "Service Engine Soon" light code means.

since it only comes on after a few hours, its most likely one of your obd II systems non continuous monitors, so it could be a few things like the cat, either o2 sensor, evap system, etc, but it should not be a misfire code or anything that is immediately harmless. That being said, pull the code and then get back to us. Pulling a battery cable almost never "fixes" an issue, but believe me, when i had my rx-8, i tried it all the time!!! lol glad its gone

Is it necessary to keep the o2 simulator on after your car is tuned?

^depends on how it was tuned (and probably who tuned it!). Are you currently MAF-less, then? If they used speed density then you probably don't need it. Take it off and see what happens as the IX tends to respond well anyway.

O2 simulator is for the O2 sensor by the catalytic converter. If you have no cat, then yes you need to have the O2 simulator and will always need it. Unless you purchase and install the O2 extender

Right, I think the best information given in this thread is the most obvious.

GET AN OBD TESTER AND PULL THE CODE

Strangely enough, this has been the most consistent information for a CEL....

Funny thing is, is it tells you what you're problem is.

I have AMS TBE with test pipe and before the tune I had o2 simulator.
Later I had my car tuned at Drift Office . I was told by ER that Drift Office was probably using their map.
After tha tune Drift Office told me I can take simulator off my car since it was flashed and I don't need it .
I don't have CEL issues.
