Local parts review/s

Dunno if it's something people would be interested in, but what about having a thread for sharing experiences/opinions of mod's done, and companies dealt with?

I'll start:

AMS Shifter Base Bushings
AMS Shifter Linkage Bushings
Blox Front Engine mount (Speed Element gets a better than A++ rating too, got it 2 days after I ordered, 79 shipped)

I did them all at the same time, and IMO, if you have an MR, this should be necessary. It makes the 6 speed shift sooo much crisper (solid click when it goes into gear), and it goes into gear much easier when shifting at high RPM.

It took me a few hours to do all of it, but I was taking my time, and I also had to run to the auto parts store for some grease for the linkage bushings.

Blitz SBC i-D Spec R - Amazing response, punch in desired boost, set gain, make a run or 3 and boom, hits target every time.

Clutch Restrictor Pill delete - MUST do! Takes all of 20 minutes, and makes quite a big difference in clutch feel.

Swift Spec R springs - Car drives MUCH flatter in the corners, isn't sprung too stiffly, and is NOT underdamped on the stock Bilsteins for these springs.

Agency Power 27mm Adjustable RSB - Makes the car feel much better in the corners, much more neutral (medium setting so far, going full stiff tomorrow)

heres what ive done this month:

megan racing 02 housing
megan racing downpipe
perring highflow cat
- ordered from CVR motorsports - registered evom vendor. shipping was fast. id recommend them. i was able to see how competitive these vendors are when it comes to price matching. thats always a plus for us. i paired these with the greddy ti-c competition catback to complete the tbe. so far im happy with the set up. id be happier for it to be a touch quieter.

walbro 255 with the install kit - ordered from map for 99 bucks. shipping was uber fast too. make sure you run empty before you do the install. and dont do it in a garage - do it outdoors!

hallman pro mbc - most people say its better to tap the vacuum lines on the wg and turbo nipple. i did the other alternative - wg to BOV. ill rerun when i upgrade the intake+intercoooler piping.

as for local shops. i went to arsenalmotorsports for my 02 housing+dp install. they also welded a bung for my UEGO wideband. they work fast, and they are flexible. remember to dress warm because their shop is effing cold! i would hit the teriyaki place close to them for food and warmth while waiting!

i have the beatrush underhood bushings. i got it installed the same time i had the clutch done so i dont know if it helped or not. shifting is okay but its hard to throw it in reverse.

hmm what else... rubber mats ftw! it keeps your carpets dry and makes the vacuuming the interior a lot easier!

oh daym, how can i forget? English Racing Tune!

Blox is a good company for motor mounts, they are partners with Skunk2, they have a lot of good products, most of it Honda albeit, but they're broadening their horizons.

Works Short throw shifter and console bushings: Did the install myself and was pretty easy. Fought with the bushings a little but it was my own fault.

Greddy Cat back exhaust: Was a bolt on replacement for the stock system. I think it took about 30 minutes from the time i opened the box until the car was runnning again.

ETS Test pipe: Same deal. Super easy install and great quality. ETS A+++

Exedy Stage 2 clutch: Best upgrade hands down. Took it in to have it done though. Stock clutch is a pile of crap. Night and day difference between the two.

HKS SSQV BOV: Waste of money. Bought it because I like the WHAA PSH... Will be going back to recirc on the next round of mods (ETS Intercooler, Piping, Intake, and custom tune)

Kelford 272's cams

I never felt such a BIG difference in power for a single mod.. Before the cams my best was 12.82@107, after cam install and tune, 12.13@113

I purchased these from ETS and they arrived 5 days later, great customer service from ETS!

I purchased some GSC S2 cams from Aaron at English Racing. Always a pleasure to deal with and I'm awaiting install + tune in the next week or two! Will post results/review then.

Also threw in a Tial Q BOV from Michael at ETS whom is also always a pleasure to deal with. Got me the Tial within a few days and the price is always good!

Trying to keep my coin in the NW and to the NW vendors/tuners out here.

Seibon Dry CWII CF Hood...
-Fitiment is better then the usual seibon wet cf hoods and the look of the dry cf in my opinion is clean. Hood comes with the vent undercovers which i have installed for the winter but without the vent covers the hood definetly feels feather light at 8.5lbs!

Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec Tires (255/40ZR17)
-Very good performance driving tires! And perfect for some track use especially autoX...last july i went out with the corvette marque club an ran the track day with them on the road course at pacific raceways and these tires felt amazing from morning until the end of the day...very good grip in the corners! and with my coilover setup and moderate drop the 255's have never rubbed
