DATE CHANGE: Going to Proformance HPDE 11/7/09 @ Pacific Raceways - Join Us!!

The wife's birthday is coming up and we're doing the Proformance 1 Day High Performance Driving course on SATURDAY November 7th. Right now it is weather permitting and if there are enough participants to make it worth it. Need 8 for it to go barring weather and we have 5 confirmed and possibly 6. If we have a big enough turn out, will go after a group rate.

Would be awesome to have some NW Evo representation as well. Cost is $535 and link below for more info.

Will be there in the 08 STI and Ev0 9.

Damn that would be a lot of fun! Are you and the wife running better brakes, gannie? That would be my biggest concern in doing something like this.

BTW - I hadn't seen you in a while and for the life of me can't remember your names (forgot to ask at XXX Sunday).

Annie (Evo 9) is running DBA 4000 series rotors all around, SS brake lines, Hawk HPS pads and Motul Brake fluid so that should be fine.

The STI (me - Gama) is all stock right now but still relatively new.

Since it is only half day of lapping and odds are not going all out due to lack of driving skill and knowledge of the track, I think the STI will be fine and the Evo should do really well.

Would be more worried about the tires that are brought and tread life left as they will hold the event if it rains but not if it is "pouring".

Let me know if/as anyone signs up so that I can keep count of who signs up from NWIC and NW Evo's - I'll go after a group rate if we essentially make up the group.

Payment is not due until 1 week prior.

yahu is correct: brake pads and fluids are by far the most important thing to have in order, before hitting the track.

I did the same (proformance) HPDE on factory pads, then HPS+, then DS2500... and am now using DTC-60 front, and DS2500 rear. I'd consider my setup the minimum bar, before going to the track.

on my HPDE day, we had (2) STIs that ran completely through their factory pads, in the afternoon session.

If he has any power mods or drives relatively hard good luck with those pads...they are about the worst things you can put on an evo to try an make it stop. At PR I would consider DS2500 a minimum...atleast if you are going to push it on the straits some.

Not too worried - it's her first time at the track and really throwing a car around.

I know my name is gender confusing but this is a first for her (Annie).

I'd like to attend this. I've never been on a track. I was hoping to go the Oregon on their last one but I hit money road block once again. Maybe this time will be better. The shop is supposed to have my Evo out next week.

You would be better off starting your first track day at PIR in Portland anyway. It's easier on hardware and the track is much more forgiving. Once you get comfortable with PIR, you can go run PR with a lot more confidence since you got some experience under your belt. Of course you don't have to do this, is just what I think would be best for those starting out with HPDE's. Those of you that have ran both will surely agree with me. I think PR is way more fun but be prepared to chew up tires and brakes hardcore.
