losing power.

everytime i'm getting on the freeway or just driving on city roads it feels like i'm losing power everytime i get on the gas. i dont know much about my car. i had my car for about a year now. when i purchased my car it had a few mods and within the first week of driving the car it broke down on me at Ellensburg.it cost me $600 to get it towed to Auburn. then found out it was the fuel pump that went out. but anyways. why am i losing power. i changed spark plug and wires already.

So I take it you don't work on it much. Don't have a Tatrix cable so you can take a log of it? You need to be a little more specific on it "losing power". Do the RPMs increase and you just don't move as fast? That could be the clutch. Do you feel it knocking or jerking around? Could be plug gap or ignition related. It could be 100 things, you have to help us narrow it down. If you can take a log of it, do it. Or at least try and be more descriptive in your explanation.

You're still very vague. I suggest getting it to a shop to have it diagnosed.

obviously the problem is when the RPMs increase, that is when you step on the gas. What happens? Violent jerking? The car just slowly dies? You need to be specific, I don't know what your talking about and chances are neither will anyone else on here... Chances are you should just take it to a reputable shop... sounds like this is going to be a difficult process, sorry, dont mean to be rude...

If it skipped a tooth or two it could really act up, but that is getting into the realm of messing up the valve train and can lead to serious problems. So if you were running it around while it was like that it could mean serious $$$. You didn't happen to hear any loud ticking did you?

Ya. Get your car over to T.J.'s and let him take a look at it. Once you figure that out, we can tackle that 60k job with the 3 of us easy.
