10k miles updates ER built 2.4l

I have read many English Racing posts. They did this and that and how much HP they can produce. Here is something different.

I had my EVOVIII rebuilt at ER about 2 yrs ago and i finally hit 10k miles on the engine and figured I would tell you guys how it worked out for me. Hoping this will help everyone on the forum in some way.

First Let me tell you about the built. 2.4L,JE piston, eagle's rods, APR stud, oversized valves and HKS springs and cams. All the basic recommanded by Aaron except for the HKS stuffs I already have along with a stock VIII turbo.

10K miles of city driving later here is the result... Its still amazing... PWR and TQ are still there. 401whp and 450tq. The only thing I have replaced since the built are oil and tires. Everything works great.

Added to the car during the build that I think is useful. A boost failsafe made by ER, have safe me when my meth pump went out, totally worth the money.

Over all, you all already know... ER is the place to go. local support for a piece of mind... northend turning session seems to be happening a lot which helps...
So you know I am not getting pay 4this, just a gift for the good business pratice and hope that ER will always be the local guy to turn to without the BIG NAME ATTITUDE. loving it... Thank You ER...

Thanks Chewy it means alot to read that you are still happy with it and us after all this time

Chewy's car made 401/449 at 30psi after he promised me a cheeseburger if I helped it along to break 400whp. This is still an Evo VIII turbo as I recall, and can probably benefit from a few of the newer things to come about in the last few months like speed density and some larger cams.

Then again, if it keeps going like this day in and day out and its keeping the smile on your face, leave it as it is...dont mess with a good thing

Aaron

I wish I was closer to WA because I would like to do business with English since it seems there is less than a handful of reputable evo shops left and the ones around here are smoking crack because they now charge triple for just about everything they sell because they have had some success and their heads are a bit swollen but people are willing to pay for it I guess

I have heard nothing but good things about English so props to you guys!!

It is in fact still on the Stock VIII turbo.

Still running meth.

It does put smiles on my face everytime I drive it.

However, because I only driving the EVO on the weekends now I have not see any reason to upgrade my turbo like I have planned. Guess we will have to see what happens when the white EVO gets finished.

For everyone else info, buying the tuner's lunch on tune days will def. increase your chances of getting better numbers!!!

Everyone that goes there to have any kind of work done, needs to at least offer to buy the person working on your car a drink or something. I try to offer to buy them lunch every single time, even if the people say no thanks, it is definitely the thought that counts and they will remember that...
