NWdsm.com = FAIL stay away
I know some of you evo owners out there have your roots from DSMs. I know some of you go far back, even to the old nw.dsm.org days, like myself.
I wanted to share this with you, which I posted in DSMtuners.com. I wanted to be sure I made you aware in case you were ever directed to this site.
Tim messaged me about a new local forum for the NW, www.nwdsm.com.
I said, "what the hell?" and decided to check it out. I was formally, of the original nw.dsm.org "nwdsm" back with Derek ****, and thought man, that's pretty bold to try and run with the name, I mean hell, the original is still up; just in-active.
Once on there, I went through the site and checked it out. My intention wasn't to try and start anything with anyone, but then I noticed that there was only one admin, and that the admin had an avatar that was a cropped picture of my blue 2g , that I picked up in Portland, that at the time of the picture, was in the posession of an individual named Chris Canada. It was in-mistakeable since the blue talon in his avatar had a black primer'd hood and velcro at the corner of the front headlight. We all know how rare these blue 2g's are, and for it to be the same pic from his CL add, and also to have the same distinguishing characteristics just caught my attention. I then went into his profile and noticed that he had no information about himself, yet wanted introductions.
Now for those that don't know him, Chris Canada has built himself quite the reputation here in the NW. I don't have to mention his name to hear people talk about their unpleasent experience from having dealt with him, and his www.team-dsm.com, within the DSM community. Chris has burnt those close to me, and also far; his reputation has spread farther then just the NW.
Now I share this for the sake of my community, I really do try to stay away from the drama of talking one down, and even in my 2g build blogs (http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/blog...ml#comment5151), I stayed away from flaming or calling him out.
So back to this forum, I looked into his minimum posts a bit more and read them, and it just sounded so much like him. I am an avid member of this community, as you guys know, and for me to let someone like that start a forum was something I did not really want to have happen. I saw his FAIL with www.team-dsm.com and thought, man, maybe he's using "NWdsm" as a way to traffic people in.
Suprisingly, there was already a copy and paste of my events posting in the nwdsm.com events section, with my name and contact info? I thought, wow, thanks for the permission.
Not to assume who he was, I posted in the introduction. I stated who I was, and that at the moment, my car didn't need to be written up in detail, but that I was curious who this admin was that was so descret, yet was willing to use such an established club name as his own for his forum.
I was given a reply that stated that the introductions were for an introduction for your vehicles, and that it was my parogative not to put details down, and that it was understandable to be curious who the admin team was and that basically I should expect the same, which was for me to expect to, I guess, share who I was.
I followed up and stated that I was not being rude in any way, but by being a former member of the original NWdsm, I found it wrong to just use such a well known name with no information about this individual who was willing to use the club name. For me to possibly refer this site one day, to others in my community, I would like to know who's running it.
I stated that since they were willing to copy and past my personal thread, with my name and contact info, that I felt it was only right to give me some of his information so that I could know who he was. I told him my first and last name, and said, "now, who are you?"
After that post I was banned, and from what Tim says, this individual then posted an introduction and claimed to be a guy name Brian Ruppel residing in Oregon. Magicaly, he now had a moderator to back him and his credentials.
Anyways, I never got my definitive answer, and can only go off of a few things that just didn't sit right with me. Wheather he is or isn't, who cares. that avatar associated him with Chris and that was enough for me. Whatever the case, nwdsm.com is FAIL, and I suggest you guys in the NW stay away from it just in case.
Tim told me that they posted to my post after I was banned. The mod told me to keep my *** at "Tuners" if I didn't like it ... well here I am, :thumb:.
Obviously there is the ability to see my threads on other forums, so whoever you are, I really hope you read this and understand that I had every right to ask you who you are, and that I have plenty of credential and referance that keep my name in good standing ... so ban away ... your site has already failed.

beware, there is a new nwdsm.com site, it is full of FAIL! the site owner is the one that sold Daivd(boss_david) the blue 2g talon that was all jacked up as well as known by many others for scamming people. David could probably fill you guys in better, this place is not in relation to the original NWDSM.org.
When david signed up on there and questioned the site admin about his lack of an intro, the admin got all touchy and then banned David. He was not being rude was simply asking for an intro so people could know who exactly they are dealing with.
His name is Chris Canada, using a false name on there in his intro thread if you so happen just to go check it out if your curious.

*****Update
The other blue 2g that is pasted all over the site is a 2g Talon from PA, and belongs to K_Mans_Tsi on www.dsmtalk.com:

Seems my Talon has now been replaced with his, as an avatar.
Integrity right???
