Driving to White Pass

Has anyone done this drive from the west in their evo? I've been asked to go and I was thinking about driving but I have no idea what the roads are like. My car is pretty slammed but I guess I could always throw on my crappy front bumper that will scrape EVERYWHERE.

Just wondering if it would be an absolute no no on some 265 wide summer tires

How hard is a roof rack to install? I'd love to rock one for a weekend or something if someone doesn't need theirs

Oh and I just realized I haven't put up pictures of my car in a while!! It hasn't been washed in months and so I haven't bothered to take good pictures. I apologize for the iPhone pic

I went up to Stevens (Leavenworth) a few weeks ago and had no problem. There wasn't much in the way of snow on the road, but there were patches of ice. I'm on Potenza RE760's just for reference.

racks are a very easy install on the VIII and I believe XI too, I dont thing the MR has the hooks needed because of the aluminum roof , I installed mine in less than an hour, putting all the parts together and fitting them correctly on the car, check the rain gutters, on the roof of our cars under that plastic strips are 4 little hooks, you can feel them as you press down on the plastic/rubber gutters as you make your way from the front to the back of the car. they cant be missed, the thule rack will fit straight into those, so there is no need to worry about paint damage. here is mine
