I'll ask Lucas about his recommendation on the break-in.

Please note... I am NOT drag racing... I am driving around the track at full racing speeds. So there will not be any 5000+ rpm clutch dumps or real hard launches.

Cheers,
Jason

You're from Portland. I'm sure you could drive around the city for half the day going up and down the one-way roads and break that som' batch in!

Still need to break it in, even if you are not drag racing.

I agree... freeway driving won't... but regular driving / acceleration in 200 miles should be enough.

I didn't break mine in. But I did drive from Vancouver WA to The Dalles, OR and then up to Bellingham WA before driving it really hard. Thats a good 400+ miles.

yes, best bet is to ask lucas about the break in period.

that will be a lot of driving if you try to break it in in one weekend. have fun.

isnt there an exedy clutch that doesnt need to be broken into? its one of those high end ones....

Most clutches just need to avoid being launched on for 500 miles. You can rip on it right away after install realistically as lng you arent doing that. Missed shifts and SLOW shifts will still cause damage. The carbons (any brand) need to get hot to work right. Driving less than 100 miles is plenty

Organic clutches turn to hair when abused

Cerametallic work the best overall.

ER clutch pricing also depends on if the clutch is supplied or not

Define slow shifting. I can shift pretty lazy-like sometimes, especially in traffic.

+1.

And any special notes for slow shifting if the result of fast shifting is grinding synchro's and the sound of gravel in a garbage disposal? Have to limp the blue-wonder to the end of busy season before it can get resolved.
