Took the plunge!

I ordered my coilovers from AMR today! I'm pretty excited BTW, Andy from AMR is awesome to deal with, I like how he gets all of the info on the car, what it currently has, what you intend on using it for, etc to determine the spring rates and valving, as each of these is custom built for each individual user lol.

He also mentioned having his new facility ready in the next month or so, and he said he should be set up for installation and setup of the coils, including corner weighting.

On a side note, if you were planning to get some Swift Spec-R's in the next month or two (I appologize, I deleted all my PM's and I know at least 3 of you sent me one, interested in my current suspension), mine will be up for sale shortly after I get the coils installed (late April I think), and they will be going with the MR Bilsteins (36k mi on those).

Very cool, Andrew! You're going to have to take me for a ride next!

I've been feeding you poor souls for your Bilstein/spec-r combo and you don't even keep their PMs? For shame!

Sweet! When you get them all installed and have a chance to use them, please do post a review or something about how you like them. They look like wonderful coilovers.

I don't really like the spring rates and the setup of my Cusco's especially since they're setup for a JDM car with AYC. The rears are too soft and the fronts are perfect, it drives me nuts. I may sell them and pick up a set of these if you like them.

Heh I know, shame on me! I had to delete some though due to my inbox being like 98% full, so I just did a mass delete :-/

My spring rates are going to be approx. 8k front, and 10k rear (his springs are actually measured in standard, so it's 450in/lb front, 550 rear). The car should rotate nicely, especially with the 27mm Agency Power bar on the back :-)

The car will rotate too much with that bar...have fun lifting inside tires and having snap oversteer mid corner when the rear unloads...been there done that. I would suggest a 25mm bar...although I run 12k rates in the rear even the Perrin bar at times was too much. Tune with springrates not a RSB imo, those rates are a real good starting point though and ride pretty well...speaking of AMR I just held a set of their new ones today as well. Build quality looks well for the price...would love to have someone put up a shock dyno of them.

I have tested quite a few different suspensions before I decided on sticking with the AMRs. I have been in everything from Flags to Teins and both coilovers and springs. AMR has them beat for every combo I have tried so far.

Flags as in Ohlins Flags? Quite a gap there...till AMR has a wee bit more reputation and track proven performance I will stay watching I suppose. Personally my feeling is their are JRZ, Motons, Ohlins, Penske's....and then there are the others...Nationals, SCCA, and T/A seem to agree from what I have seen.

For under $2k though they look built nicely...wouldn't mind seeing some info on the internals and shock dyno's...maybe Andy can supply those in the near feature.

I hope you're right about too much rotation, because it's not near enough with the Spec-R's and the bar on full stiff.

Mine wasn't either with swifts but coilovers quickly changed that

+1 on the too much rotation. I have 8k/10k on mine and a Hodgekis 25MM and the car wants to swap ends driving straight! lol
