New build, let me know what you think

Build thread Updated 4-25-10Hey all,

Project is getting pretty darn close to being done. Hopefully there will be another predator roaming the streets albeit in Eastern WA. Take a look and let me know what you think so far.

Looks pretty nice! How are those Jun (okay, GSC) cams, and have they been updated with GSCs newest designs? How do they compare to the latest and greatest S2s, for example?

Well, I'll have to let you know once she gets fired up and running. I did quite a bit of research trying to find a cam comparo w/ the JUNs but to no avail. They weren't included in the AMS cam comparison and quite a few wished they would have been. As close as all the cams are nowadays, I don't think they will make or break the build but we will see. Yes, they have been made from updated blanks as this was one of my concerns before ordering them. They are exact copies of the JUN 272s so I would imagine performance would be the same. Big difference is these are CNC'd versus hand ground like JUN does them. I have been told if you go with true JUNs you better make sure they are degreed as they can be off a few degrees. These spec'd out fine, but the proof is in the pudding so to speak. GSC made me a great deal on these and they actually talked me into trying them versus getting their S2s. If I don't like em, I'll probable yank em and go with a set of Kelfords. I'll keep ya updated.

Cool, thanks. I hear the newest S2s are some of the best. Greg continually pushes his product forward, which is great to see!

Why would you not just go with the S2s if these arent too your liking?

Because I have a set of used Kelfords sitting in the garage. Picked them up on a part out months ago just in case. I have heard great things about the S2s but if the JUN copies don't work for me I couldn't see buying a new or used set of S2s when I have these laying around. I'm always open to suggestions though, especially from the guys over at English. If fact, Lucas was the first one to tune my car when I first picked it up a few years ago Any input Aaron would be appreciated?

I have set of the 235@1mm lift 10.98mm total VIII cams here as well, just no time to test them lately...business is moving.

Scott, I sold you that valvecover didnt I?

I will look at the build a little closer and let you know what I think of, the header looks good.

lol, yes you did sell me the valve cover and let me tell you it was a big help being able to have one for mock-up and one to smooth and paint. I also got the FIC 1450s from you as well but never used them except for mock-up. Reid knows Paul Yaw, so he was able to get the hats on the ID2000s purple anodized for me. The Blue on the FIC injectors stuck out like a sore thumb. If you know anyone that wants em they are gonna go cheap. I totally understand business moving as you guys are def. some of the best out there. Anyone who brings their project in can rest assured English Racing will take care of them.
