we killed it at 2A or so, but my neighbor and I kept drinking and watching fights (he missed things earlier). I think my head hit the pillow at 5A and I was gtg at 9A or so.
I haven't watched the Silva vs Sonnen fight yet I'm about to right now, then I'll comment haha.
He didn't take as much punishment because he's better lol.
All I gotta say is Chael Sonnen didn't tap hahaha. But it was a good fight for him not so good for silva. Chael probably didn't want to tap but it's instinct to before u go out. Definately not sub of the night, that goes to Matt Hughes for putting world class bjj blackbelt Almeida to sleep. Woulda liked to see ur expression throughout the fight musta been epic if the Sonnen fans u won from were talkin massive amouts of **** like I would do.
Dissapointed that Alves lost but it wasn't a suprise. That's what Fitch does not too exciting but he wins fights.
Also crappy dos anjos lost. He will probably be someone to watch in the lightweight division.
Almeida was also one of my picks. But Matt Hughes is going through Gracie bjj blackbelts so props to him.
Who's next for A. Silva? One person I can think of that has a good chance, even though he shut my boy bj Penn down, is gsp. A great wrestler but also great at everything else. Like if he has side control he wouldn't jump back to silvas gaurd like chael would. And if silva cuts weight who knows how much that would take outa him.

He didn't take as much punishment because BC needs to learn how to not walk into uppercuts with an exposed chin. I suppose that makes JDS better.
lol - I thought I had money lost on Silva, that is for sure. It was all good, we was drinkin' and having a good time. I don't care if it is instinct or not, he tapped.
I'd pay big money to see Silva and GSP go at it, but I don't see GSP going up anytime soon. Also, GSP can't finish a fight to save his life, IMO. He is a good at taking people down, though, and Silva definitely wasn't prepared for Chael so he would be on the ground fo' sho' with GSP.
I think a rematch would be tough on Silva; Chael wouldn't make that same mistake (similar to a rematch between Carwin and Brock; no way Carwin punches himself out...just stand up). I would hope Silva would train a bit differently because there is a pretty significant hole exposed atm.

If Silva really was fighting with hurt ribs that could explain his nonexistent takedown defense. But either way I am not sure 'submitting every opponent who takes him to the ground' counts as a significant hole in his game.

The significant hole I was referring to was how easy Chael took him down. There are better wrestlers out there (not necessarily better at MMA) that likely raised an eyebrow or two at that fight. Also, where I thought Silva would dominate GSP previously, GSP could likely get him down.
That said, if he actually did have hurt ribs, that could explain things. Fighters are always fighting hurt, so I'm never sure what to make of those comments, win or lose.
