Visiting Seattle this weekend
Whats up guys, my wife and I are coming to seattle this weekend. We are looking for good places to eat, like Pikes Market area? You guys got any good recommendations?
A few places to consider all near Pike Place Market:
-For great wine and even better food served tapas style try
How to cook a wolf
http://ethanstowellrestaurants.com/howtocookawolf/
-For Italian with an amazing view of the water
The Pink Door http://www.thepinkdoor.net/menus.html
-If you are shopping downtown grab lunch at the Norstrom's Cafe atop their flagship store http://www.yelp.com/biz/cafe-nordstrom-seattle
The Lime Cilantro Chicken Salid is win.
-On the cheaper side you can just grab burritos from Chipotle on 3rd and Pike.
Imo, thats all you need to know about Seattle food.

I think more important questions would be
1) Price range?
2) what is your preference in food? (ethnicity)
3) What is your transportation and "range" that you will be originating from?
For a good time ask the wife about the pink sock mentioned above.... just dont urban dictionary that until after you ask her!

There are some great places to visit in Pike's Place Market; Ryan asks a great question re: price range, preference in food, etc. Uli's is really good, as is the Cheese place, and some other places (though the other places are likely to be found elsewhere as well). One thing to note - Pike's Place Market will be absolutely packed this weekend as it is going to be nice out.
If you've never experienced a Brazilian restaurant, there is a decent one close to Pike's Place Market as well. Ipanema is the name, on the corner of University and 1st. Have fun!

I don't have the same refined taste as ^ all those guys, but if you want a delicious yet over-priced steak, try Daniels Broiler. If you want a good view of the...water, there's always Hooter's
. I don't usually eat in Seattle, nor do I stray from my 'safe' food often. Guess I'm boring.
^Daniel's Broiler in Bellevue has a pretty nice view of the Seattle skyline. Newcastle golf course also has a great view at their restaurant "The Calcutta Grill." Neither of those options are in Seattle, though.

Thanks for all the input. And sorry I left some very important information out.
I'm not really looking for fine dining something casual. Price range 20-25per. I hear impanema is good. That restaurant was featured in chef vs the city on the food network channel.
Wifey loves Asian food, but always open for other ethnic foods. Also looking for a good bakery. We have a car so transportation is no problem.
Totally off topic but I saw a silver ix in crescent village in Oregon tonight.
Thanks!

A pretty good bakery right in Pike Place market is called Three Girls Bakery. They have another location elsewhere too. I know they make good breads and sweets, anyway. Not sure if that is what you are looking for.
Maybe do some Dim Sum. There is a place in Factoria (take I-90E out of Seattle and then 405S and get off on the first exit) that is called Top Gun. It is good and also well priced. A more expensive place, but better presentation is up in Mill Creek (the name escapes me, but there are only a few dim sum places and you could likely look it up).

Okay so far I've been to the space needle, pikes market, ate piroshki, frans chocolate, ate some meat on a stick, crumpets, elliots oyster house, visited the music and scifi museum, ate Filipino food in the market.
Thought I'd have more time to visit more restaurants but time is short :-( tomorrow we're gonna go paddle boarding. It's been hot here. But we love it.

damn, where is the flip food at Pike's Place? I haven't been there in a while. I was going to recommend the piroshki place there, but I wasn't sure of your tastes at the time. That place is really friggin' good. Also, Mee Sum is good for hom-bao, but being from Hawaii, you probably don't need to eat that in Seattle.
It's a few businesses from the place where you can buy the hom-bao place. I got the pork on a stick there. Reminds me of charsiu from Hawaii. It was pretty good.
As for the flip restaurant it's in the back of like a oriental store. It's pretty good. There's chicken adobo, longanisa (spelling), pancit, diniguan, and some other stuffs.
