Asking local NW peeps for mod input

Current intake/intercooler piping setup is:

-Fujita UICP
-Fujita Intake pipe w/K&N cone filter (new)
-Evo IX BOV
-ETS LICP (shiney black)

I picked up a ARC induction box from FORESAKEN and after rubbing his box for a few hours with lapping powder it rubbed out and is now shiny new!

However it wont fit with my current setup so i'm looking for advice in what rout to take with this.

Option #1: The box is so baller just run the OEM UICP!

Option #2: The box is so baller you should drop $600-800 for a ARC UICP to match!

Option #3: For less money than #2 you can get 1) mini battery and tray 2) short rout UICP

Option #4: Rub Foresaken's box long and hard.... maybe his Genie will pop out and grant a wish?!?

Hey. I'm west but not north but I thought this might be food for thought. I had my stock UICP's powder coated and most people think they are aftermarket. Look pretty good for stockers huh? Except for the stock battery.

How badly do you want to run the ARC Box? If you really want to run it, I would suggest just using the OEM one like I said you. If you have extra money then buy the ARC one but if you don't play on showing your car or anything then there is no point as the OEM one does the same thing. Just paint it or polish or something.

I personally really like the ETS short route with mini battery. I was hoping to go that route with an ARC box but wouldn't work so I just went ahead and got the ARC UICP. It's hard to justify the cost of ARC but if you like it like me, then go for it. I always say, you have to pay to play.

heyyy i choose option 4! how come that wasnt included in the poll?

IMO, since my car isnt for show (like foam here^^^), i cant justify running shiny ARC parts. i have the ets stock route uicp, and that looks hawt enough for me!

so my next vote would be option 3. ETS FTMFW yo

Your options on UICP is limited to stock and stock-like with the ARC box.

I used to have one, and the only aftermarket shourt route was made by Buschur a few years ago. But, that was not really short route either. Then again, it's way cheaper than the ARC UICP.

To my understanding, aftermarket UICP's do not really do anything other than look shiny. So if you are after bling, then go with the ARC or maybe something like the weapon-r ti (painted) UICP.

With the smaller battery you do save some weight, but then add in the cost of a short route pipe and its not very ecomonical.

I have to imagine there is something better you could spend the $$ on. Like S2s, new O2 housing, turbo, etc..

If a short route will fit, go with that option. Should increase spool some too (less volume of air + less hard bends for the air).

+1 to Josel - if your car isn't for show, why bother spending that much money on a piece that can only be appreciated with the hood up?

#3.

Here is why---

Cleans up the engine bay a ton. Saves money. Throttle response is improved and if its the full replacement UICP (like the ETS for instance) it does take out some of the weird bends and kinks.

failing that...#4

#4 ftw

I dig my short route UICP from ETS with the mini bat, and if the short route pipe wont fit with the ARC box, call ETS Michael, they're great about working with you on special orders, and he might be able to have one modified to fit.

thanks for the input guys!

I'll ponder this advice and be ready to move on it in 2 weeks time when i'm back from Vegas.

If we win then i'll just buy a 2.4 build from ER and be done with it! But the odds are, of course, not in my favor.

Stock UICP with samco couplers...works good for me with the ARC box at ~370whp. If you had the funds I would opt for a brushed Buschur UICP (sorry NW) and a Nisei battery holder with the larger Braille battery (11lbs iirc)

Looks like ETS has a nice package deal with the battery, trey and UICP.

Anybody have a good reason not to run their package? I know the Braille battery has the best rep at the moment, so hopefully the ETS tray fits the Braille battery??????

Their battery seems to be holding up just fine, going on one year, and three complete drains due to car sitting. Kits fitment is spot on, and yes, the Braille should fit.
