Looking for local help, BCS ?

Hey Folks

I'm down in Fed Way, any ways I believe my BCS is turned off via the tune. We bought this car used last month, and have slowly been working through the punch list.

What I need is someone local who can read my ecu and tell me the status of the BCS, I'm not even sure if you can disable it via the ecu. I think its either bad or turned off, because its only making 12 psi, which is what the stock w.g. is also, so it seems like its doing nothing. We have done a boost leak check, and tightened the w.g., with a MBC its a bear, and without it a kitten.

LMK if you can help a brother out, I will compensate you for your time.
Thanks

Yes it was. We just did 3 inch t.b.e. And it was pulling hard like 1.4 bar then put it back on the bcs and no dice

Are you certain it is hooked up correctly? I'm not positive, but unless it's routine is completely disabled in the ecu, I don't think most tuners mess with it if the car is using a mbc/ebc. They'd just leave it alone.

The original signal lines were replaced when the previous owner put on the MBC, I connected the two of them with a T and ran the third leg to the BCS. Thats what it showed on the sticker under the hood. Its definately possible I got it wrong., looks pretty straight forward.

I just want to check out this BCS, before I replace it.

Thanks

Like Aaron said this is your problem, not the BCS itself. The stock lines have two small restrictor pill in the lines. This is what offsets the BCS and creates the higher boost (ie. ~20psi or so stock). How the WGDC tables are setup in Ecu if these pills are not in there you essentially run wastegate boost. So either buy a new set of stock BCS lines WITH the restrictor pills or put on the MBC.

Another option is to run the GST boost pill which allows a higher headroom for more boost but then you would have to have your tables modified inside your rom. I'd just put the MBC back on myself.

OH it all makes sense now, so I will be buying a set of new lines from the dealer. I have to run the stock bcs because of classing, prepping for STU next year.

Thanks for the help everyone, any ideas if English Racing will be tuning at Drift Office soon, trying to save a 4 hour trip

OK so I put on the new lines, and still its only hitting 1.0 bar, gets there rather quick, but not full boost. The lines I bought had the pills in them, so now what?

Any ideas would be appreciated, I'm going to do a leak test tomorrow, made an adapter for the turbo inlet. If that looks good, im guessing something is wrongo in the tune.

Thanks in advance

Make sure the lines are hooked up to the right locations. IE BCS solenoid and J-pipe and wastegate. Also if you pull the tune check the WGDC pretty easy to tell if it's been modified. OEM is 100% across the board if I recall...I assume if it had a MBC there was never a reason to touch these tables though. I'd check for a boost leak. 1bar is almost 15psi so that is above wastegate which hits barely 12psi. That be a big leak though to lose almost 5psi of peak boost.
