Question Is the Northwest Subaru Territory?

I have seen nothing but Subaru owners up here in the Northwest.
Where is all the Mitsu love?

I've also noticed a lot of cliques out here on the streets and on forums with at least one EVO in an all nissan, mazda, honda even in a Subaru crew cas well.. but never EVO's rollin' together. Why is that?

I'm just not used to seeing that when I was living in Cali.

Why all the glares and the confused looks, especially in my EVO?

Yah, at least in Oregon. One day I saw 4 STys, (completely unrelated from each other) within 10 miles.

Lots and lots of STi's up here vs Evos, which confuses the **** out of me considering how expensive it is to make power in an STi compared to Evo. Guess most NW'ers need their cruise control lol.

I agree, alot more Subies compared to Evo's. They are almost a rarity which is why most of us on the sightings thread appear so happy to see eachother.

Wish there was a lil' more of a tight net group up of Evo owners up here in the NW.

Thanks for all the feedback...at least I'm not alone.

EVO's have crusie control?

I agree on the rarity, I get all warm and fuzzy inside when I see an EVO on the road! haha

You think its cause of all the GymKhana hype? I bet it would be different if was an EVO.

STI's are a dime a dozen in Washington. Evo's are a harder to find.

Why didn't Mitsu create a manual EVO X MR?

I miss cruise control when I was in the e38. Helps when your pre-occupied

BUT I love my MR.

But, let's get back to the point.

Why is everyone on the Subi Hype up here?
Like what FORSAKEN said about cost.

That they do. They also free-rev alot nicer than 8/9's, but they're heavy, and a bit odd looking from certain angles IMO. Still dig 'em though.

Maybe Evos are more adult owned, thus we have real work schedules, and can't make meets as often, or we're all just selfish ******, and don't want to meet eachother or hang out.

I vote número dos.

I wish Mitsu offered as many vehicles with the AWD 5 speed option like Subaru. Those two things make a great vehicle for anything the weather throws at us (especially snow) while being some of the most functional cars that get decent (when compared to other as capable vehicles) gas mileage to boot.

STis on the other hands... they're slow and get horrible gas mileage, they do nothing for me and the majority of them live in a little fairy tale where the world revolves around Subaru Technica International and they have no sense of what speed and handling really are. Where all the driveway approaches are at a very shallow angle so they don't scratch the the lips of their pretty little lowered "rally" cars and they're affraid to curb their $650 Rotas because there are to many cars on the road with the nicely built OEM BBSs.

I was recently at English for the dyno day where an STi showed up to dyno. Someone asked what his car was making and he made a comment about it being stock with a ****ty smirk on his face. The car is fully built with all the supporting mods and a "big" AVO 450 turbo (a 30r variant, extremely small hot side). The car made 330whp with fully boost at 5,000RPM. It might as well have been a stock turbo. I met this kid on the road a week later and sends me a text, "that's what a real car sounds like." I replied with, "like it has an inefficient exhaust system?"

I asked one of his friends what he had done to his WRX. He scoffs and says, "a lot." It had an STi TMIC, turbo, TBE, intake, ect. All that work to make his 2.0 just a little slower than a stock STi.

The best part, I dynod right before his and layed down 440whp with the 2.0 and a 30R on pump gas.

A buddy of mine has a decently built 02 WRX with a full STi swap. I respect the car and the guy, he's a car enthusiast altogether. At the end of the day when Andrews stock turbo E85 Evo was on the dyno making respectable numbers, he says, "I should sell my truck and buy an Evo."

/rant

Sorry guys, but you touched a soft spot. I have very little tolerance for these guys

Mitsubishi > Subaru, for life.
