EVO accident

Last night a drunk driver rear ended my evo.

I was turning into Taco Bell and some tail gating drunk truck driver slammed on his brakes and slid into my right rear bumper, then he just took off. I followed him until he drove right by a cop car, so I stopped and told the cop that the guy in the truck just hit me. I was so low on gas I couldn't keep following so I let the cop chase him but he lost him and it turned out he wasn't a cop, just a security guard. So he got away, but I got his plates and reported the hit and run. The police filed a report and now I have the dudes name, phone number, and address. He owns a house and a boat, so I know he has money, I just have to get his insurance info. If that doesn't work out I'm going to hire an attorney and file a civil lawsuit. This guy needs to take responsibility or suffer the consequences. If the pic doesn't work I'm probably playing SOCOM II.

Damn shame and it looks like your car is really hurt judging by the kink above the rear wheel. Bet it costs more than $5k to fix.

Try and get some evidence, like a photo or something, off his truck. Maybe there is some paint transfer onto his bumper.

my wife rear ended me and that is the exact same place you have your damage just looking at your damage is about the same as mine too... my repair cost total was just under 1k oh wait on further examination.. you have a broken tail light.. mine wasn't broken.. good excuse for you to get the jdm tails...

where did you get your spoiler.. how much.. is the brake light on the spoiler functional (wiring available with existing wiring)?i want one for my apex silver evo...... how do you like it.. please share.....

the spoiler is stock low profile spoiler and the center light works. i read somewhere on here that the wiring for the low profile spoiler is already in place on evos with the cf wing. i like it but i have a carbon fibre wing coming in the mail. the accident happened in the rain while i was moving so the impact wasn't as bad as it could have been. the part the pisses me off the most is that it was 1:45 am, there were 3 other lanes to drive in, not another car in sight and he chose to tailgate me in the far right lane.

Dude, don't let them get away with ANYTHING! Have the entire piece for that rear quarterpanel replaces, the bumper, and the taillight. You shouldn't have to put up with "repair" work when replacement will make it look 10X better. . . and be more expensive.

kevin- spoilerdepot.com makes the "low profile" or OZ spoiler. They're $200 shipped and painted.

that will probably be like $2000 to fix from a quality body shop=== I just had a dent smaller than that fixed on the same area on my lancer and it was $1200... but man it looks better than new now!!

seriously, dont let em just fix it....tell them to replace it all cuz when they just "fixed" the trunk on my car, it screwed up the entire alignment...and my trunk was leakin water like crazy

Are you talking about the factory OZ spoiler? Everyone says there are the same but they look different to me. Isn't the low EVO one just a little taller? and the LED brake light a little longer? I have to see them next to each other.
