Ok so i live I'n Victoria I'm bc Canada and I'm looking at buying a 2006 lancer evo 9. I was told it came from Oregon or some were and had a rebuild title. It is now orange with upgraded turbo and everything. Does anyone know who's car it might have been and who rebuilt it?? Thanks guys any info would be great.

 

Do u have more info on the vehicle and where it's located? Is it at a dealership or on craigslist.

 

It's on craigslist in Tacoma I'm guessing. Stay away from that dealership, they only sell rebuilt cars and I can guarantee they've all been abused

 

It's a private sale. The car is I'n Victoria and registered I'n bc. 37,000 miles and came up I'n august or sept

Links, pics, etc. Fortunately for you, I think I have only known of two orange Evos in the area. I'm pretty sure neither of the ones I'm thinking of were IX's, but I could be wrong about that.

I see you drive a srt-4; is the orange similar to that burnt orange neon color, or is it closer to the bright orange in the Denver Bronco's or Chicago Bear's uniform color? I believe English Racing worked on the brighter orange car I'm thinking of, so that could help as they would have some information if that was the same car.

The analogy of your request is similar to this: "I'm looking at buying a box of cereal. I was told they had it at Albertson's last week but now it is at Safeway. The box is orange with some graphics on it. Does anyone know which box of cereal I'm talking about, and have you tried it?? Thanks guys any info would be great." I don't know if you're talking about Honey Nut Cheerios, Reeses Puffs, or some of that Malt-o-Meal crap (though I guess you would have said it was in a bag if it was the last option).

Personally I'd stay away, that think screams rice, especially the painted center console

 

Yea I'd paint the dash and everything black again. The problem is I'n Canada here you don't really get a choice on evo 9's. Since they were never sold here.

 

I'd take that console over the entire painted dash!

In all seriousness, I'm pretty sure that is the one that I've seen down at ER, so look up the username "JohnBradley" and send him a PM, or look at his info and send him an email, or try calling the shop sometime during the work week. If you dig deeper into the nw forum, I bet you could find this car/previous owner too. I know he was into some of the OR cruises as that orange car would always stand out.

I don't think the car was up into that much power when I saw it last, but that was a while ago. I'd be a bit concerned with "new brembos" as well, unless they just mean new pads. Is it the angle/flash or are those VIII headlights? They almost don't look like black chrome, but it could be that they are being washed out with too much light. Best of luck!

 

I found more info in this thread. It looks like his username is 'evogod21' but he hasn't been on the forums since last Dec. I know that I met him at ER at least once so I'm sure they have more info re: the car (at least the last time they saw it).

I would definitely get the dash/console changed, and depending on what you think of orange, I'd get the exterior painted too. I suppose if you like orange then this is the car for you. Keep us posted!

 

Haha i agree about the dash. Thats minor though as I have a friend who is a bodyman but I will do some digging. Also I got the vin and carfaxed it and it did come back as a 2006 lancer evo mr so that is what it is. I am not too sure about the headlights as I say there are not many evo 9's here at all maybe 3 or 4 on van island from what I have seen so I dont have much to compare with. But thanks for your help so far guys I really want the car but I want to find out what kinda accident it was in and who rebuilt it. Also it was just new pads on the brembos

I personally don't know more than what I've read on here (his sig shows that he dragged it for example). English Racing is your best bet. Aaron (JohnBradley) knows all; he'll definitely remember this bright orange Evo.
