Overboosting after FP Black installed
So today me and my friend installed the FP black to my VIII, everything goes pretty smith until we fired up the car, noticing that the car is overboosting, almost like there's no stop. So, I turn the boost down all the way to kind of work my way back up, however, it's still overboosting. when the cars running the WG is open. no matter how much pressure is applied to the crank arm. its like the flapper isnt sealing or something. . Do you guys have any ideas why this would be happening even when the boost is turned down all the way and why my WG is opened all the time? I preloaded my VIII stock WG by the way.
Thanks guys!!
Thanks guys!!
Humm sounds like your turbo is blown so you should just put the stocker on and gimme the Black
How many turns did you preload the wastegate? I'd be careful boosting it too because you are gonna be in totally different load columns than your stock turbo.

I cutt three threads off and screw the turn buckle back on. I'm not even drive it till I got it figure out.
How many pounds is it hitting?
Are you sure the wastegate actuator vacuum line is hooked up correctly? I know it sounds stupid, but check to make sure your boost controller is set up correctly. If it's a manual controller, remove it altogether just to be sure.
The diagnosis begins.

With the OEM wastegate actuator, there is no reason the new turbo should be over boosting unless the wastegate is stuck some how. Otherwise, there is a problem elsewhere.
Try running the vacuum line from the boost source to the wastegate actuator directly.

Straight over boosting means WG is shut or not opening fully/correctly.
- Improper boost controller hook up
- Torn/punctured vacuum WG line (happened to me because I suck at life)
- WG preload not set or set incorrectly
....are where I would start looking. I would do as 4thStroke mentioned and try hooking your boost source directly inline to the WG. This will determine if your boost controller is faulty somehow (if the problem is resolved). If it remains, it's a WG issue.

So I got my forge WG Actuator yesterday and installed it last night, car ain't overboosting anymore but.... the damn flapper still doesn't closed all the way. The car runs like top, boost hits hard and everything. I just can't figured out why the heck the flapper doesnt sealed all the way. I really hoping its not my turbo. any idea? be alright if I drive my car around like that?

check the vacuun WG line, the smallest hole will cause boost spike like crazy, had it happent o me before. Try swapping it with a new hose and see if it will make a difference
