CA desert, Northern specifically, is not as interesting as Arizona desert, at least from what I've seen. I agree with NeoGeo, lots of farm land, and lots of desert. When we drive to Reno we ask the same question "who chooses to live here?"

You guys need to get out and live a little. I hear desert is some of the most beautiful scenery out there. I have never spent time in it, but I am building my retirement community bus into an expedition rig just to go to places like that.
But to be fair, I dislike most of society, so desolation suits me.

People don't realize that a lot of California is farmland/desert. That's how it was before everywhere started getting built up and, all the way up the 5, to San Francisco is still just open land. It's kind of nice every once in a while.
