Erratic Idle

Hey Northwest Guys,

So the story is on saturday I accidentally over-reved the car in 1st gear. The car seemed fine after I did it though, and has been driving fine until last night. Last night the car started reving up to about 3k rpm and staying there while the car was in neutral and then it would drop down to roughly 2k rpm and then slowly ease back up to 3k rpm. I would drive the car and everything would be fine but once I went back into neutral the same would happen. I tried to drive the car again today and the same would happen randomly throughout the day but not consistently. Also, warming up the car did not make a difference to this problem, it occurred sometimes right when I turned the car on and sometimes after the car would warm up.
The mods on the car are TBE and LICP and a tune from Harmon Motive that was done about 4 years ago. Its a IX MR with about 43k miles on it, if that helps anything.
So I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what could be happening, and also if there are any recommendations for local shops around the seattle area that could look at the car so I could at least have a sense of whats going on before I try to make an appointment for ER.

Thanks for you help,
-Sasda

7300 isn't high at all, 7606 is the standard rev limit for most CT9As and it's set low enough to stop the engines being damaged easily. FYI it's not really necessary to rev to the limit as the power declines, turbo runs out of breath, blows hot air etc. So it's likely that it wasn't the revving.

Check none of your hose or lines have come off, vacuum lines and such. Try a boost leak test. Check the condition of your IAC.

Hopefully it'll be an easy fix, are there any other obvious operation issues with the car? Low boost, misfires etc.

Happened to me when I popped a vacuum line off the system. High boost levels can turn vacuum lines into high pressure lines.

In my case, it was at the "T" I inserted for the cockpit boost gauge. Check the lines at the back left of the intake manifold or if you put in a boost gauge, check at or near the junction.

Best of luck.

Thanks for the suggestions guys I'll look for all the mentioned causes. Aside from the strange idle the car is running fine and it doesnt sounds any different either. I normally dont rev that high or even drive my car hard for that matter, but this was just an accident. Any shop recommendations to get it checked out sooner?
