I just ordered my second set of these. I'll be replacing them later this week. I first put them on about 3.5 years ago and they are just now wearing out (this was also with autocrossing about every 3 weeks for 2 years). I like them a lot! Solid grip, no fade at high temps and they are very quiet. However they do shed a lot of dust (atleast compared to stock). But since I'm **** about cleaning my wheels anyway, it's not a big deal.

I also installed the SS Lines and went with RBF600 brake fluid. You can tell a difference with a more solid feel, however it's not night and day difference. I suppose if I did a lot of road racing it would be better to have, but I can feel a small difference.

Check out KNSbrakes.com for some good deals.

For street use, the magic pads are pretty nice, it's what I run. It looks as though you have some racing experience, remember if you go to the track the magic pads won't be the best choice. In that case I am partial to Carbotechs.

I think its important for people to recognize that as far as stock pads go, our Evo's come with a very poor choice in brake pads.

The "Magic" pad does indeed bite a little bit better. That means that it is better than a very poor choice in brake pad.

I'm going to be upgrading pads again in the next few months and Magic pads will NOT be in the list of options. When it comes to brakes i'd rather have good/great street/track pads (DS2500) than marginally acceptable street pads (magic)

Please note that I run BINARY brake ducting with hosing and he has done testing with heat sensors and his own seat time and feels that with a moderately tuned car, that the DS2500's are adequate for the occasional track day type of car, and excellent for a daily driver.

Ds2500s are great for DD, But if you play on road courses at any moderate speed I would highly suggest something more aggressive. I track my car occasionally, currently with gyrodisc rotors up front and WORKS 2 piece in the rear (long story) and SS lines. I hardly noticed a difference on the lines. Get good fluid motul is great, but currently I'm using amsoil (works equally as well.) Please at all costs avoid Hawk pads they will kill you on a road course!

I am surprised to see all these great reviews on giro disc. First I will say that Mike from Giro disc has been AWESOME to work for. However, my brakes SQUEEK like CRAAAAZY!!!! I have asked for a second pair. I have embedded them in, sanded my giro disc rotors and used anti squeak pads. After all that? They still squeak after a few miles. After this I asked for a replacement, installed those and for about a day, I am back to waking up my neighbors, scaring people on the road when stopping and turning heads at the grocery store! Any suggestions? I have ordered the rebuilt the breaks and powder coated, new rotors and pads.
